About 200 US businesses have been hit by a “colossal” ransomware attack, according to a cyber-security firm, as Huntress Labs said the hack targeted Florida-based IT company Kaseya before spreading through corporate networks that use its software.

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin summoned the country’s regional prefects in June, and his message was clear: the authorities in France’s regions had to take swift, decisive action against foreigners who committed crimes. Residence permits should be reviewed, and more offenders should be deported if they had committed particularly serious crimes, such as second-degree murder, drug trafficking and rape.

Police near Boston, Massachusetts, have arrested nine people after an hours-long stand-off with an armed group.

A Saturday incident began early when an officer investigated two vehicles that had stopped by a highway near the town of Wakefield, MA, with the occupants wearing military-style uniforms and  found to be carrying weapon, then nine of them fled into nearby woods when asked for information.

Police later held negotiations with the group, and all were taken into custody, the confrontation coming ahead of celebrations around the country to mark Independence Day.
