The seizure of the domain name “freevaccinecovax.org” was announced by Acting United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Jonathan F. Lenzner and Special Agent in Charge James R. Mancuso of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Baltimore Field Office:
“This is the ninth fraudulent website seeking to illegally profit from the COVID-19 pandemic that we have seized,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Jonathan F. Lenzner.
“Members of the public should not provide personal information or click on links in unsolicited e-mails and should remember that the COVID-19 vaccine is not for sale. The federal government is providing the vaccine free of charge to people living in the United States. Working with our partners at HSI, we will continue to aggressively prosecute fraudsters who seek to prey on unsuspecting residents and their families.”

Five people in Texas have been charged with participating in an alleged smuggling operation after 97 migrants were found in a single Houston home, all five of those charged are in the US illegally, according to US officials, it comes after the month of March saw the most border crossings in 20 years and a surge of children arriving.
In a statement, acting US Attorney Jennifer Lowery said the suspects are all accused of “harboring, concealing and shielding illegal aliens for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain”.
The suspects include one person from Honduras, two from El Salvador and two from Mexico, officials say. They each face 10 years in jail if found guilty.

Thousands of people around Russia have joined unauthorized rallies to protest against the detention of jailed opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who has been on hunger strike for weeks, demanding a proper medical care for his ailments, as more than 1,000 people were reportedly arrested.
Navalny, 44, was jailed in February and is demanding medical attention for acute back pain and leg numbness.
The largest protest was in Moscow, but others took place in major cities, including St Petersburg, Vladivostok in the Far East, a number of cities in Siberia, and the central city of Vladimir where Navalny is being held.
