In yet another gruesome piece of reporting on the exploding march of the world-wide infection, Italy overtook China in COVI-19 death toll, as grim stories coming out of Iran about ever rising human toll, royal tests positive, airline staff to become medics, makes people pray even more for a divine intervention.
Italy’s total number of deaths from the corona-virus has overtaken China’s, with another 427 people dying in the past 24 hours, with the total number of deaths in Italy now stands at 3,405.
In comparison, 3,245 people have died in China since the virus first emerged in the city of Wuhan late last year, while Italy’s outbreak did not come to light until it was first reported in the north of the country on February 21, with recorded 41,035 cases of COVId-19, at the fastest rate of growth seen over the last three days.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is seeing the corona-virus killing one person every 10 minutes in Iran, as the death toll in the Middle East’s worst-affected country climbed to 1,284, and deputy Health Minister Alireza Raisi said the total number of infections had reached 18,407 in the Islamic Republic.
The government has ordered the closure of schools and universities and banned sports, cultural and religious gatherings. Iran has also closed four holy Shi’ite shrines.

There have been more than 9,400 cases of Covid-19 and 152 deaths in the US so far, according to estimates, and globally there are some 220,000 confirmed cases, and over 8,800 deaths.
New York City Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio ordered city officials to identify individuals for release, including people who were arrested for minor crimes and those most vulnerable to infection due to underlying health problems, after a guard, and a prisoner tested positive for corona-virus at Rikers Island prison, where disgraced former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, 68, is a high-profile inmate, and is to be moved to a different state prison, possibly with an ocean view.

Meanwhile, the politically correct Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reduced it’s inmate population by 600 in the last two weeks, this in a city where the sanitary hazards due to the homeless, and drug addicted street people are a declared health threat to the community at large. Ministry of Health divulged that the genome, sourced from a patient infected with the virus, was sequenced by scientists from the Smorodintsev Research Institute of Influenza, a leading medical institute in St. Petersburg partnered with the World Health Organization, revealing images of the new corona-virus. Its particle size is 100-120 nanometers, and images being taken by negative contrast method on a JEM-1400 transmission electron microscope,with Doctor of Medical Sciences Dmitry Lioznov, who serves as the acting director of the Smorodintsev Institute, said that:
“… that because COVI-19 is a new corona-virus for us…it is critically important to be able to determine the path of its entry and spread into our country, as well as its mutations”.
Russia, which has 147 confirmed cases of COVI-19, including nine recoveries and one fatality, has joined other nations in taking a series of measures to combat the pandemic.
