Chairman Goodlatte, Ranking Member Nadler, and members of the Committee, I always welcome the opportunity to appear before this distinguished committee, but this is not a happy occasion.

Federal Bureau of Investigation employees deviated from important principles in 2016 and 2017. Everyone knew about some of the departures when they occurred – such as discussing criminal investigations and encroaching on prosecutorial decisions. We learned about others through an internal investigation – such as leaking to the news media and exhibiting political bias.

We need to correct errors, hold wrongdoers accountable, and deter future violations. Director Wray will describe what the FBI is doing to accomplish those goals. At the Department of Justice, our mandatory annual training will include lessons from the Inspector General’s report, and we are considering other recommendations.

We already revised the Department’s confidentiality policies to emphasize that “non-public, sensitive information obtained in connection with [our] work is protected from disclosure.” We intend to enforce that principle for our employees, and we need to demonstrate respect for it ourselves by protecting sensitive information entrusted to the FBI.

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet on July 16 in Helsinki, according to the Kremlin and the White House. 

The meeting will be the first official summit between the two leaders that will be closely watched by nervous US allies in Europe and critics of Russia in America. 

The two countries announced the details simultaneously a day after striking a deal on holding the meeting following a visit to Moscow on Wednesday by US national security adviser John Bolton. 

“The two leaders will discuss relations between the United States and Russia and a range of national security issues,” the White House said in a statement.

A number of flights between Australia and Bali have been canceled after the Mount Agung volcano began spewing water vapor and ash a mile up into the air. 
Key points: 

“Due to a volcanic ash cloud caused by Mount Agung in Bali, it is currently not safe to operate flights to or from Denpasar Airport,” the statement said. 

The canceled Jetstar flights include routes between Denpasar and Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Cairns.

They added that senior pilots will be assessing the situation overnight and provide an update by 9:00 am Friday.

5…………> Life On Enceladus: Organics Detected 

An international spacecraft has discovered complex organic molecules originating from an icy moon orbiting the planet of Saturn, detected by the Cassini spacecraft after they were ejected in ice grains through cracks in Enceladus’ icy shell.

“It is the first-ever detection of complex organics coming from an extraterrestrial water world,” they said.

Cassini previously flew near to Enceladus in 2005 and discovered lighter organic molecules. Larger molecules like those recently detected are created by chemical processes that could support life, according to the European Space Agency (ESA).

President Trump signed an executive order to keep families together by jailing parents and children together during the course of their immigration hearings, and ordered the Department of Defense to find space on military bases to house up to 20,000 children, as Attorney General Jeff Sessions filed a request with a United States District Court in California to modify a consent decree  that set standards for the detention of children. 

Despite the howls by the “Fake News” media pundits, President Trump is far from being the first president to jail children. 

While touting themselves as “Latinos best friends”, Obama’s ICE police closed the T. Don Hutto Residential Center in Taylor, Tex., and later on he responded to the surge of Central American immigrant children by once again ramping up family detention, implementing a “no bond, no release” policy, holding families even after they passed asylum officers’ “credible fear” interviews. More than half of the 1,050 children who entered family detention in the fiscal year 2014 were 6 or younger. 

Current GOP bills allow indefinite detention of children and families and strip away anti-trafficking protections that ensure unaccompanied immigrant children from Central America get a court hearing instead of letting Border Patrol agents quickly determine their fate. They gut asylum protections by raising the standard that migrants must meet to show they were in danger in their home countries. 
A federal grand jury sitting in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Charlottesville today charged an Ohio man named James Alex Fields Jr., 21, of Maumee, Ohio, with federal hate crimes, including a hate crime act that resulted in the death of Heather Heyer, for his actions during the Aug. 12, 2017 “Unite the Right Rally” in Charlottesville, Virginia. 
He was charged in an indictment returned earlier today with one count of a hate crime act resulting in the death of Heather Heyer (18 U.S.C. § 249); 
28 counts of hate crime acts causing bodily injury and involving an attempt to kill (18 U.S.C. § 249); and one count of racially motivated violent interference with a federally protected activity (18 U.S.C. § 245(b)(2)), resulting in the death of Heather Heyer, for driving his car into a crowd of protestors on a downtown street in Charlottesville, Virginia.

“At the Department of Justice, we remain resolute that hateful ideologies will not have the last word and that their adherents will not get away with violent crimes against those they target,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said. “Last summer’s violence in Charlottesville cut short a promising young life and shocked the nation. Today’s indictment should send a clear message to every would-be criminal in America that we aggressively prosecute violent crimes of hate that threaten the core principles of our nation. I want to thank the FBI as well as our fabulous prosecutors Stephen Curran, Christopher Kavanaugh, and Rachel Kincaid for their hard work on this case.”

The traditional conservative who sometimes joined the liberal justices on key rulings, earning a reputation as the court’s “swing” vote, Justice Kennedy’s decision to retire in July was motivated by his decision to spend more time with his family, thus giving an opportunity to shift the court to more firmly on the right of the judicial spectrum. 

“It has been the greatest honor and privilege to serve our nation in the federal judiciary for 43 years, 30 of those years on the Supreme Court,” Justice Kennedy said in a statement. 

 
When a new Justice is approved by Congress, Mr.Trump will have earned a solid 6 to 3 majority on the High Court, something that will almost certainly infuriate the “Deep State” saboteurs and conspirators who have been plotting for more than a year to nullify the will of the people and turn the US into a communist country.

U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday defeated second Republican-drafted immigration bill despite President Donald Trump’s last-minute plea and amid chaos over the reunion of separated families who illegally cross the U.S. border. 

The vote failed worse than expected, with 121 votes in favor and 301 against. The opposition was from all Democrats and 112 Republicans. Two Republicans did not cast votes on Wednesday. 

“House Republicans should pass the strong but fair immigration bill, known as Goodlatte II, in their afternoon vote today, even though the Dems won’t let it pass in the Senate.” Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning. 

“Passage will show that we want strong borders & security while the Dems want open borders = crime. Win!” the president tweeted. 

The failed “hardline” bill would have provided funding for a border wall, ended the diversity visa lottery program, limited family-based visas created an agriculture guest worker program requiring employers to use the E-Verify program and allowed for the federal government to cut funding for sanctuary cities. Every Democrat and 41 Republicans voted against it.

As the dollar goes down, we have to wait and see if the new Fed Chair Jerome Powell will continue pressuring gold and the Eurasian block with it down below $1000/oz in an economic WW3. We have to wait and see if new Fed chair Powell will attempt to destroy Eurasian block by sending gold prices below 1000, despite the fact both Russia and China have been buying their whole gold production in local gold backed currency instead of money printing machines. In other words, US has lost controls of the precious metals complex, and with Trump’s infrastructure and tax cut campaign the National debt will soon be at, or over 30 trillion dollars, since D.C. swamp alligators have no intention dropping their pet projects. ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New York, working with its law enforcement partners, conducted an unprecedented operation to infiltrate and destabilize U.S. based Darknet vendors operating across multiple markets around the country.

Special Agents of HSI New York, in coordination with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, posed as a money launderer on Darknet market sites, exchanging U.S. currency for virtual currency. Through this operation, HSI New York was able to identify numerous vendors of illicit goods, leading to the opening of more than 90 active cases around the country. The Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section (MLARS) of the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, working with more than 40 U.S. Attorney’s Offices throughout the country, coordinated the nationwide investigation of over 65 targets, that lead to the arrest and impending prosecution of more than 35 Darknet vendors.

“The Darknet is ever-changing and increasingly more intricate, making locating and targeting those selling illicit items on this platform more complicated. But in this case, HSI special agents were able to walk amongst those in the cyber underworld to find those vendors who sell highly addictive drugs for a profit,” said Acting HSI Executive Associate Director Benner. “The veil has been lifted. HSI has infiltrated the Darknet, and together with its law enforcement partners nationwide, it has proven, once again, that every criminal is within arm’s reach of the law,” Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein said.


“Criminals who think that they are safe on the Darknet are wrong. We can expose their networks, and we are determined to bring them to justice. Today, we arrested more than 35 alleged Darknet vendors. We seized their weapons, their drugs, and $23.6 million of their ill-gotten gains. This nationwide enforcement effort will reduce the supply of deadly drugs like fentanyl that are killing an unprecedented number of Americans. I want to thank our federal prosecutors, and the dedicated federal agents with DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, the Postal Inspection Service, and the Secret Service for their outstanding work.”

A former executive vice president of State Street Bank & Trust identified as 

Ross McLellan, 47, of Hingham, Massachusetts was convicted by a federal jury in Boston in connection with engaging in a scheme to defraud at least six of the bank’s clients through secret commissions applied to billions of dollars of securities trades.


“State Street’s clients, including institutional investors managing pensions for retirees, entrusted McLellan and his subordinates to transition billions of dollars in assets,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General John Cronan. “Rather than living up to the responsibility to act in their clients’ best interests, McLellan and his co-conspirators stole from these victims by charging hidden commissions and then lying about the scheme to cover their tracks. This conviction is a testament to the dedication of the FBI and prosecutors in the Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney’s Office to protecting innocent investors by investigating and prosecuting complex financial crimes.”In April 2016, McLellan, a former executive vice president of State Street who served as global head of its Portfolio Solutions Group and president of its U.S. broker-dealer, was indicted with Edward Pennings, 47, of Surrey, England, a former senior managing director of State Street and the head of its Portfolio Solutions Group for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.As established by the evidence at trial, between February 2010 and September 2011, McLellan, Pennings and Richard Boomgaardt, 44, of Sevenoaks, England, a former managing director of State Street, conspired to add secret commissions to fixed income and equity trades performed for at least six clients of the bank’s “transition management” business, which helps institutional clients move their investments between and among asset managers or liquidate large investment portfolios. The commissions were charged on top of fees the clients had agreed to pay the bank and despite written instructions to the bank’s traders that generally reflected that the clients were not to be charged trading commissions. McLellan, Pennings, and Boomgaardt took steps to hide the commissions from the clients and others within the bank, including by directing that the commissions not be broken out in post-trade reports.

Despite a decision by US Supreme court upholding President Trump’s administration’s travel ban, an LA federal judge has ordered that migrant children and their parents who were separated when they crossed into the US should be reunited within 30 days, an injunction in a case related to DOJ “zero-tolerance” immigration policy.

In a new wave of hostility towards the policy of breaking up families at the Mexico border, 17 US states, identified as Massachusetts, Washington, New York, California, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia plus the District of Columbia have launched a lawsuit to terminate the policy.

The aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruisers USS Antietam (CG 54) and USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) arrived in Manila, Philippines, for a regularly scheduled port visit, June 26.

“Manila is one of the favorite port visits for Sailors in the Pacific thanks to the beauty and welcoming people of the Philippines,” said Rear Adm. Marc Dalton, commander, Task Force 70. “I’m very proud of all the Sailors in this task force. They are dedicated, capable, professionals and they are the core of the United States Navy, and they allow this task force to conduct its operations.”

President  Trump’s national security adviser John Bolton met President Putin in the Kremlin as a prelude for talks intended to set the stage for a US-Russian summit, a first step toward improving ties.

“Your visit to Moscow raises hopes that we may make the first steps in the restoration of fully-fledged relations between our governments,” Mr. Putin said, adding that Russia “has never been seeking confrontation” with the US, offering to discuss what can be done to “restore full-fledged relations based on equality and mutual respect.”

Mr. Bolton said he was looking forward to discussing “how to improve Russia-US relations and find areas where we can agree and make progress together.”

He added that when Moscow and Washington had differences in the past, Russian and US leaders still met.

“Even in earlier days when our countries had differences, our leaders and their advisers met, and I think that was good for both countries, good for civility in the world,” Mr. Bolton said, emphasizing that “President Trump feels very strongly on that subject.”

Vienna, Austria has been mentioned as a possible location for such a meeting, but no details have been made public.
