1…………> Drug Interdiction: Eastern Pacific

“I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work and dedication displayed by my crew, the crews of cutters Alert and James, and the men and women of the aircrews and support networks ashore. Their teamwork was key to successfully combating transnational organized crime in the drug trafficking zones over the past several months. Knowing that we stopped tons of drugs from reaching our streets, and the streets of allied nations in Central and South America, makes the long deployments away from home worth every moment,”  said Cmdr. Chris German, Active’s commanding officer as the crew of his ship offloaded approximately 6,570 pounds of cocaine in San Diego. The seized drugs were the result of multiple interdictions conducted by multiple Coast Guard crews in the Eastern Pacific Ocean from mid-September through early October.

2…………> Applied Global Warming: Storm Herwart

Storm Herwart has wreaked havoc across parts of central Europe, disrupting public transport, causing floods, uprooting trees and leaving at least five people dead and several injured. Deutsche Bahn, Germany’s national rail service, urged customers to check for delays or cancellations and reconsider travel before deciding to depart on journeys as thousands of travelers in cities such as Bremen, Hamburg, Berlin, Hanover, Kiel and Dortmund were left stranded by the storm damage.

3…………> The Trump Attack: “Down With Hillary”

President Trump launched a Tweeter outburst as reports suggesting that the first arrest in the Russian collusion inquiry would be made this week, possibly as early as Monday.

“The Republicans are united behind me now fighting back like never before. There is so much GUILT by Democrats/Clinton, and now the facts are pouring out. DO SOMETHING!”.

“Never seen such Republican ANGER & UNITY as I have concerning the lack of investigation on Clinton made Fake Dossier (now $12,000,000?),….”
“…the Uranium to Russia deal, the 33,000 plus deleted Emails, the Comey fix and so much more. Instead they look at phony Trump/Russia,….”

“…’collusion,’ which doesn’t exist. The Dems are using this terrible (and bad for our country) Witch Hunt for evil politics, but the R’s…”
“All of this ‘Russia’ talk right when the Republicans are making their big push for historic Tax Cuts & Reform. Is this coincidental? NOT!”

5…………> Anger Mounting: Trump Supporters

President Trump posted yet another public attack on Hillary Clinton, adding that there is “Republican ANGER and UNITY” about the “lack of investigation” into a dossier produced by former MI6 officer Christopher Steele.
The dossier, produced by Mr Steele through Washington DC research firm Fusion GPS and made public in January 2017, has been confirmed to be paid for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC, digging information about Mr Trump’s alleged illicit behaviour during a 2013 trip to Russia as well as illustrating alleged ties between Trump surrogates and Russian officials.

5…………> Utopia In the Desert: House Of Saud

Forced to steer its economy away from oil dependence as new technologies have weakened country’s monopoly on the oil markets, Saudi Arabia announced an audacious plan to build a $500 billion super-city that is intended to become a world-class business center, a 10,000-square-mile city — over twice as large as the entire territory of neighboring Qatar — connected with neighboring Egypt via a proposed bridge. It will also touch the border with Jordan, creating a transnational hub.

4…………> The Ugly Side Of Comrade Un: Gulags
“The brutal and arduous labor, grossly inadequate diet, and lack of medicine lead to a dreadfully large number of deaths in detention,” that’s how a spokesman for an organization observing human rights violations in North Korea described the horrors of the system of re-education camps of Comrade Un’s secret police.

Newly released satellite images offer a never-before-seen glimpse of North’s  “brutal and inhumane” network for political oppression, including secret labor gulags.

5…………> The Battle Of The Cartels: Mexico

Can this year’s spike in Mexican violence be attributed to the absence of former Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquín Guzmán? The extradition of one of Mexico’s most famous drug lords in January unleashed an upsurge in violence that is to blame for the soaring murder rate in Baja California Sur this year, with 451 murders recorded in the first nine months of 2017 and this month’s toll has already reached 90, making it the state’s worst on record.
