The Chinese Communist Party officially calls them voluntary “Vocational Education Training Centers,” and according to estimates, at least 1 million of the roughly 10 million Uighur’s living in Xinjiang have disappeared into these centers, with the centers referred to as being “effectively re-education camps” with “draconian ideological training courses.
China claims that “the training centers” are an effective tool in a fight against Islamist terrorism, and  analysis shows how Uighur’s are subjected to draconian methods of tracking and arrest, with arbitrary facial recognition carried out with high-tech surveillance cameras, and individual Uighur families are constantly monitored through a network of spies, repeated house visits and collective interrogations.

Protect Democracy has been gathering signatures from former DOJ employees both from the Democratic and Republican parties, obviously underground “Deep State” saboteurs, condemning Barr’s alleged interference in Roger Stone’s case, and the Department’s “unprecedented move to give preferential treatment to a close associate of the President”, calling it “an assault on the rule of law and American values”. with more than 1000 of ex-DOJ’s employees, mostly from the Democratic party, have signed the letter so far.
