Russian authorities asserting that Mr. Navalny was supposed to report to police regularly because of a suspended sentence for embezzlement, as he denounced his detention as “blatantly illegal”, saying the authorities had allowed him to travel to Berlin for treatment for the Novichok poisoning, which happened in Russia last August, a contradiction that has led thousands of Russians to take part in unauthorized protests to demand the release of the jailed opposition leader, leading to the detention of more than 4,000 people, according to a monitoring group, with Moscow police closing metro stations and blocking off the city center.

Mr. Navalny was jailed on his return to Russia after recovering from an attempt to kill him with a nerve agent, and he blames the security services for the attack but the Kremlin denies this, as the opposition figure had only just arrived from Berlin, where he spent months recovering from the near-fatal incident.

While Russia is having political problems with Mr. Navalny, Western stock market regulators have fired warning shots over frenzied share short selling in GameShop, and other firms fueled by social media chat on sites like Reddit and Facebook, as watchdogs in the US and UK said they were monitoring activity and potential lawbreaking, and warned traders they risked facing huge losses, saying that traders should ensure they are familiar with all rules, “including market abuse” of margin requirements, as GameStop is the focus of a trading war between amateurs and Wall Street pros.

Shares in the US bricks-and-mortar video games retailer surged again on Friday, ending 68% higher, Another stock in the traders’ sights, AMC Entertainment, jumped 54%.

Japanese lawmakers are debating whether companies should offer their staff the option of a regular three-day weekend, hoping that more relaxed workers will be less at risk of “karoshi,” or death by overwork, as in Japan, several hundred people die every year of heart attacks, strokes or other medical problems brought on by overwork, since Japanese employees are famous for putting in agonizingly long hours at their desks and declining to take all their annual holidays for fear of inconveniencing office colleagues.

But changes that were becoming evident in society have been exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic., and hence Members of the Japanese parliament opened discussions on a proposal put forward by Kuniko Inoguchi, a member of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, to permit workers to opt for a four-day working week instead of the traditional five-day, Monday-to-Friday pattern:

“Japan’s economic system is under a great deal of pressure – made more acute by the pandemic. We we need to make changes to ensure that it is sufficiently resilient and able to meet the needs of companies in the future,” he said.

Mr. Nick Pope, the former official UFO investigator for the British Ministry of Defence, has looked deep into hypothetical contact with extraterrestrials:

“Two military bases in the midlands – RAF Cosford and RAF Shawbury – were directly overflown. No definitive explanation was ever found, despite an extensive investigation,” he remarked.

Even the Deputy Base Commander saw it.”
He added that most instances of suspected UFO sightings turn out to be “misidentifications of things such as aircraft lights, satellites, and Chinese lanterns,” though a small number of sightings “remain unexplained.”
