A federal grand jury in Las Vegas, Nevada, returned a three-count indictment today against three alleged gang members of La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) for their involvement in connection with a kidnapping and murder.

Jose Luis Reynaldo Reyes-Castillo, aka Molesto, 25, Miguel Torres-Escobar, aka Chamilo, 21, and David Arturo Perez-Manchame, aka Walter Melendez and Herbi, 20, are charged with murder in aid of racketeering, using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence and causing death through the use of a firearm. Reyes-Castillo and Torres-Escobar are citizens of El Salvador and Perez-Manchame is a citizen of Honduras. All of the defendants are illegally in the United States.

According to the indictment, MS-13 is a violent, transnational criminal organization that operates throughout the United States, including in Las Vegas, Nevada. MS-13 is a street gang composed primarily of persons from Central America, including El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. The Parkview clique of MS-13 operated in the Las Vegas, Nevada sector. MS-13 members are required to commit crimes, including acts of violence, to maintain membership and discipline within the group.

The indictment alleges that, on Jan. 21, 2018, Reyes-Castillo, Torres-Escobar and Perez-Manchame, kidnapped and murdered Arquimidez Sandoval-Martinez. As alleged, the defendants intentionally participated in the act of violence that resulted in the death of Sandoval-Martinez.

A former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) case officer pleaded guilty today to conspiring to communicate, deliver and transmit national defense information to the People’s Republic of China.

Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 54, left the CIA in 2007 and began residing in Hong Kong. In April 2010, two Chinese intelligence officers (IOs) approached Lee and offered to pay him for national defense information he had acquired as a CIA case officer. The IOs also told Lee they had prepared for him a gift of $100,000 cash, and they offered to take care of him “for life” in exchange for his cooperation.

Beginning sometime in May 2010 and continuing into at least 2011, Lee received requests for information, or taskings, from the Chinese IOs. The majority of the taskings asked Lee to reveal sensitive information about the CIA, including national defense information. On May 14, 2010, Lee made or caused to be made a cash deposit of $138,000 HKD (approximately $17,468 in USD) into his personal bank account in Hong Kong. This would be the first of hundreds of thousands of dollars (USD equivalent) in cash deposits Lee made or caused to be made into his personal HSBC account from May 2010 through December 2013.

“This is the third case in less than a year in which a former US intelligence officer has pled or been found guilty of conspiring with Chinese intelligence services to pass them national defense information,” said Assistant Attorney General Demers.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is reallocating resources to the Southwest border to investigate human smuggling operations and the use of fraudulent documents to create fake families seeking to exploit U.S. immigration laws.

This fraud may include the use of forged birth certificates or other fraudulent documents to establish parentage. Forged or other fraudulent documents are also being used by adult illegal aliens to falsely claim they are minors under the age of 18. By fraudulently entering as a family unit or unaccompanied minor, illegal aliens can exploit loopholes in immigration laws to enter the U.S. and avoid detention.

“ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is redirecting resources to the border in response to cases of fake families using forged documents to illegally enter our country and avoid detention. Our highly-skilled teams are working to stop individuals, networks and organizations facilitating child smuggling and document fraud,” said ICE Acting Director Matthew Albence. “ICE along with our partners at CBP, remain committed to protecting children by ensuring they are not used as pawns by individuals attempting to gain entry to the U.S. through fraud.”

During the week of April 16, HSI deployed three teams to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection interdiction efforts in El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico. During the week of April 22, ICE Homeland Security Investigations HSI deployed three additional teams to Eagle Pass and Harlingen, Texas; Yuma, Arizona; and El Centro and San Diego, CA. The teams were chosen for their human smuggling and trafficking expertise and include criminal analysts, interpreters, document analysts, forensic interview specialists and victim assistance specialists.

According a federal affidavit filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California, an US Army veteran identified as Mark Stevens Domingo, a 26-year-old man from Reseda, California, planned to detonate an improvised explosive device (IED) packed full of nails and other shrapnel at a “white nationalist” rally scheduled to take place in Long Beach last weekend.

”Domingo said he specifically bought three-inch nails because they would be long enough to penetrate the human body and puncture internal organs,” the court filing states.

The affidavit says federal investigators first discovered Domingo after encountering him in a private message group online, where he “described his support for violent jihad and his aspiration to conduct an attack in the Los Angeles area.“

“There were mosque shootings in [N]ew Zealand,” Domingo posted in the group last month, according to federal prosecutors. “[T]here must be retribution.”

Erika Paola Intriago, 44, of Tampa, who is not a licensed attorney, fraudulently portrayed herself as an immigration attorney offering immigration-related services on social media targeting persons from Spanish-speaking countries seeking immigration-related services, asHomeland Security Investigations (HSI) Tampa is looking for additional potential victims of a Tampa woman indicted on four counts of wire fraud and three counts of wrongfully using government seals in connection with a scheme in which she fraudulently represented herself as an immigration attorney to take money from victims for services she never provided in the Tampa and Chicago areas.

Intriago is accused of then creating fraudulent letters, emails, receipts, documents, and communications to send her victims to falsely portray the records as legitimate communications with US government agencies when in fact she never filed or completed the necessary immigration paperwork for which she was paid.

Intriago is also accused of threatening and intimidating victims who complained about her conduct by telling them that she would report their immigration status to US immigration authorities, which Intriago claimed would result in the victims being deported.

If convicted, Intriago faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison for each count of wire fraud and up to five years in federal prison for each count of wrongfully using government seals.

The allegations were made by Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson, who left the Agency almost 30 years ago — he’s made numerous controversial claims over the years, including spreading a hoax in 2008 that Michelle Obama had been videotaped issuing slurs against white people, claiming in 2013 leading Democrat John Kerry was guilty of war crimes in Vietnam, and said al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden wasn’t a threat two months before 9/11 attack
