President Obama said that he did not have the right to sign DACA, that it will never hold up in court. He signed it anyway! If the Supreme Court upholds DACA, it gives the President extraordinary powers, far greater than ever thought. A shooting rampage at a synagogue in the eastern Islamic Merkeldom of Germany town of Halle cranked up security concerns within the EU and world’s Jewish community, since European Jews are facing increasing threats from both Islamists and radical right fanatics.

At least two people were killed and two others injured in a gun and grenade attack near a synagogue, and a Jewish cemetery in Halle during Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in Judaism.

The attackers were armed with guns and were wearing combat suits, as disclosed by Deutsche Welle citing Max Privorotzki, head of the Halle Jewish Community, who described one of the attackers as “a heavily armed attacker with a helmet and rifle”, adding that the shooter tried to enter the synagogue which was crowded with people at the time.

An investigation into the gun rampage is underway, and although the police have detained one of the suspects, local residents were told to “remain vigilant” as other assailants may remain at large.

“This attack shows that security needs to be in place to protect Jewish communities. This extreme violence on Yom Kippur will send a chilling message to Jewish communities in Germany and around the world,” said Dr. Gunther Jikeli, a historian at Indiana University’s Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism.

“The defendants and others allegedly engaged in a massive, multiyear scheme to manipulate the market for precious metals futures contracts and defraud market participants,” said Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski.
