1…………> I Spy: Google Chrome

A number of “Cousin” Google Chrome users recently became aware of the fact that not only does their browser allow them to surf the web, but it also quietly scans their personal files without prior consent with a “Trojan Horse” that is the updated version of Chrome Cleanup Tool.

If suspected malware is detected, the Cleanup Tool then sends the suspicious file’s metadata to Google and asks the user’s permission to remove the potential threat, but Google Chrome Security Chief Justin Schuh insisted that the addon sole purpose is to deal with “unwanted software manipulating” the browsers.

2…………> Russia, China & Co: Heat Is Up

Speaking in Moscow at the start of his talks with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu,  PLA Chief General Wei Fenghe said that he chose Russia for his first trip abroad to “show the world … [the] firm determination of our armed forces to strengthen strategic cooperation, [and] to let the Americans know about the close ties between the armed forces of China and Russia,” an unmistakable and not even a veiled threat of the “strategic partnership” as being a shared opposition to the “unipolar” world: i.e. perceived US global domination.

As part of their “beginning of a beautiful friendship” military cooperation, Moscow and Beijing have conducted joint military maneuvers, including exercises in the South China Sea, last summer’s navy drills in the Baltics, and joint missile defense drills intended to practice a unified response to missile threats from other countries.

4…………..> Mr. Xi Noose: On Trump’s Neck

Donald J. Trump

‪@realDonaldTrump

We are not in a trade war with China, that war was lost many years ago by the foolish, or incompetent, people who represented the U.S. Now we have a Trade Deficit of $500 Billion a year, with Intellectual Property Theft of another $300 Billion. We cannot let this continue!

[When you’re already $500 Billion DOWN, you can’t lose!]

Following President Trump’s trade war “shots across the bow” actions, China issued a $US50 billion list of US goods including soybeans, whiskey, small airplanes, beef, passenger vehicles and industrial chemicals for possible tariff hikes in an escalating and potentially damaging technology dispute with Washington.

5…………> I Hate “YouTube”: Aghdam

San Francisco General Hospital’s spokesman said that of the three yesterday terror attack victims being treated, one is in a critical condition following the shooting rampage by a woman identified as the 39-year-old San Diego resident Nasim Najafi Aghdam, who had voiced complaints online about YouTube on previous occasions.

“At this time there is no evidence that the shooter knew the victims of this shooting or that individuals were specifically targeted,” police said.

1………> Police Brutality: Georgia

Gregory McLeod, 44, of East Point, Georgia, and a former correctional officer and supervisor at the U.S. Penitentiary in Atlanta (USP Atlanta), was sentenced today in federal court to one year and eight months in prison, followed by three years supervised release, for using excessive force against an inmate in 2016, and for writing two false reports about the incident in an effort to cover up his crime.

“Correctional officers have an important duty to protect inmates from violence or any act of unreasonable force,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General John Gore of the Civil Rights Division. “McLeod’s violent actions, and attempt to obstruct justice, blatantly violated the inmate’s civil rights. This Justice Department will not tolerate any abuse of power by a law enforcement officer and will continue to prosecute these cases to the fullest extent of the law.”

4……….> Don’t Dwell On Us: China

Vice-Premier Liu He told US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that the United States has violated international trade rules with an inquiry into intellectual property and China is ready to defend its interests, as hog producers in Iowa to apple growers in Washington state and winemakers in California joined ethanol and stainless steel pipe makers to protest a charge of 15% on their goods, all caught in the nightmarish trade war launched on the world’s “globalist” economy.

President Donald “Schumer” Trump plans to impose tariffs on up to $US60 billion ($77 billion) in Chinese goods for misappropriation of US intellectual property under Section 301 of the 1974 US Trade Act.

“We believe it is only part of China’s countermeasures, and soybeans and other US farm products will be targeted. It does not look like just a trade war, but rather the US is trying to bully China and the rest of the world in order to make China concede economic resources and development opportunities to the US and make the US forever big and strong,” according to popular China tabloid.
