Cecilio Gonzalez-Espino, 31, was convicted of multiple felony methamphetamine charges in California in 2011. As a result of his prior convictions and undocumented status, Gonzalez-Espino is prohibited by federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition.

JACKSON, Miss. – 33 individuals were arrested as part of a sweeping law enforcement operation that targeted members of a drug trafficking organization responsible for the distribution of significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana in the Neshoba County, Mississippi area.

The arrests, conducted during the week, and still continuing, were led by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Neshoba County Sheriff’s office, the Philadelphia Police Department, the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration following a multi-year investigation in collaboration with Homeland Security Investigations New Orleans.

“The arrest culminating Operation High Life is a definitive example of the coalesced commitment among local, state and federal law enforcement to ensure public safety for all Mississippians,” said Colonel Steven A. Maxwell, Director of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. “However, the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana is a clear indicator of how pervasive the drug culture is throughout our communities. On Jan. 19, 2016, Enriquez-Martinez was convicted in the Klickitat County Superior Court for the State of Washington of child molestation in the first degree for which a sentence of 68 months of confinement was imposed.

The city council in Evanston, Illinois, voted 8-1 to distribute $25,000 each to 16 eligible black households to use for home repairs or as down payments on property, a suburb of Chicago to become the first city in the United States to pay reparations to black residents who have suffered housing discrimination. The funds come mostly from a new tax on legalized marijuana, Black Americans were disadvantaged by racist housing decisions. To be eligible, residents must be a black person who lived in Evanston between 1919 to 1969, or a descendant of such a person. The family must also have been a victim of discrimination in housing because of policies or practices in the city in that time.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville, Tennessee man was arrested last week and charged with possession of child pornography.

Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) agents arrested Austin Kidd, 27, March 17, 2021, at his residence. After appearing before a U.S. Magistrate Judge, he was ordered held in custody pending trial.

“The predators who exploit children through the production and distribution of child pornography often cause the victims to suffer long-term effects,” said Jerry C. Templet, Jr., special agent in charge, HSI Nashville.
“The perpetrator in this case was only steps away from being hired as a substitute teacher for middle school children, making his actions especially egregious. HSI Nashville agents will continue to investigate these perpetrators to ensure they are punished for their heinous actions.”
