The decision paves the way for the members of the Electoral College to meet in state capitals across the US on Monday, and at that point, the door to Mr. Trump’s legal challenges to the election will slam closed.

WASHINGTON — The Department of State’s Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program (TOCRP) announced a $5 million reward Tuesday for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Audias Flores Silva (Flores Silva), following multiple investigations by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and other U.S. agencies, all actions being part of a whole of government approach to combating drug trafficking and transnational organized crime globally and in Mexico.

Flores-Silva was charged in a federal indictment on August 13, 2020, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The indictment charges Flores-Silva with conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, and one kilogram or more of heroin for importation into the United States, as well as carrying, using and possessing a firearm in relation to a drug offense. In 2002, Flores Silva was indicted in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina for engaging in narcotics trafficking activity. He was later convicted and served a five-year sentence before being released and returning to Mexico. In 2016, Mexican authorities arrested Flores Silva after being accused of orchestrating an April 2015, ambush against Mexican police officers in Soyatlan, Jalisco. Flores Silva was later released from Mexican prison after fighting his charges in Mexican courts.

Officials in Indianapolis have released the names of the eight people who were killed when a gunman opened fire at a FedEx warehouse, among the victims were four members of the local Sikh community – including a mother, a father and two grandmothers. “As we send this legislation to the Senate, the House will continue our fight for 15 ($15/hour), which would give 27 million American workers a raise,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the top Democrat in the lower chamber, announced in a statement.

She noted that the minimum wage increase is a “financial necessity” for American families, an effective stimulus for the economy and a moral imperative for the country, since the federal minimum wage went up to 7.25 dollars in 2009, and hasn’t been raised in over a decade, and has been one of President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign promises, and has been an important Democratic agenda.

“We know that a 7.25-dollar federal minimum wage is insane. It is a starvation wage, and we’ve got to raise it to at least 15 dollars an hour over the next several years,” Bernie Sanders, who serves as Senate Budget Committee chairman, said in a recent video.

“Walmart, the largest employer in America, is owned by the richest family in America … But the company they own starts workers off at 11 dollars an hour. That is outrageous,” Sanders said.

Despite strong support from Democrats, Republican lawmakers have opposed the idea, arguing that it would lead to a loss of jobs, and could hurt vulnerable businesses, especially under a pandemic.

A new COVID19 fighting substance named Coronil was launched recently at an event attended by some Indian government ministers, even though there is no evidence that it works, and misleading claims have been made about approval for its use, being a combination of herbs used in traditional Indian medicine and sold by Patanjali, a big consumer goods company in India, under the same name.

It was promoted by popular yoga guru Baba Ramdev, and described – without any basis – as a “cure” for Covid-19, but soon the marketing had to stop after an intervention by the Indian government, which said there was no data to show it worked as a treatment, still it said it could continue to be sold as “an immunity booster”.

 Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan present – at which claims were repeated that it could prevent and treat Covid-19, attracted criticism from India’s largest doctors’ body, the Indian Medical Association, that described the promotion of an “unscientific medicine” in the presence of the health minister as an “insult to the people of India”, and asked the minister to clarify whether he supported it as a cure.
