Alvaro Johel Angel Angel departed the United States via an ICE Air Operations (IAO) charter July 31 and was transferred to Salvadoran law enforcement upon arrival in San Salvador.

“Our officers remain focused on ensuring that our efforts target fugitives from justice, both here and abroad,”said Lyle A. Boelens, acting field office director.

“We will continue to deny fugitives the opportunity to evade the justice systems of our international partners by hiding unlawfully in the United States.”

On May 10, ERO officers with the Washington field office arrested Angel in Alexandria, Virginia and served him a notice to appear in immigration court.

  Angel entered the United States at an unknown location without being admitted or paroled by an immigration officer.

Under severe international pressure to cease human rights abuses on Muslim minorities,  a leading part of China’s propaganda war is the orchestrated tour of Xinjiang — bringing journalists and diplomats inside their “vocational centers” to showcase young Uyghur men and women dressed in bright clothing as they sing and dance for the cameras.

Catchy Chinese videos seek to counter the United Nations’ finding that at least 1 million a Turkic-speaking Muslim minority Uyghur’s are detained in internment camps in China’s western region of Xinjiang.

Last month, two dozen countries — including Australia — called on China to halt the “arbitrary detention” and “widespread surveillance and restriction” of Uyghurs and other minorities in Xinjiang.

But last week China hit back, saying ambassadors from 50 countries backed their stance on Xinjiang after taking state-sanctioned tours of what it calls “boarding schools”.

In rhetoric echoing science-fiction notions of “pre-crime”, China says the facilities are necessary to prevent terrorist acts before extremist thoughts can take root.

Lyubov Sobol, a Russian lawyer, blogger and opposition leader is one of more than 300 people detained over an unauthorized protest in Moscow, dragged into a black FSB van that swiftly took off.

People are protesting in the Russian capital after authorities disqualified a number of opposition candidates from standing in local elections, and a group, which runs a hotline for reporting detentions, said that at least 381 people had been arrested, including some journalists, and there were at least six reports of beatings by police.
