The Turkish President Recep Tayyip, “Sultan” Erdogan told parliament no power can stop the offensive against Kurds in Syria, demanding fighters must leave a designated border area in north-east Syria “as of tonight”, while the US House overwhelmingly denunciated US troop withdrawal by 354-60, and US Vice-President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are en route to Turkey to meet with President Erdogan, as the US scramble to hush down the fallout of US withdrawal from northern Syria.
The Trump administration dispatched its top officials to Turkey for emergency talks to try to persuade Ankara to halt an assault on northern Syria, but President Trump says the US has no business in the region, adding the Kurds — the target of the Turkish offensive — as “no angels.”
Turkey launched its offensive against Kurdish forces in northern Syria a week ago, two days after Mr. Trump suddenly announced he was withdrawing the US from the area.
“The PKK, which is a part of the Kurds, as you know, is probably worse at terror, and more of a terrorist threat in many ways than ISIS.”
But speaking at the White House Mr. Trump said the US had no stake in the region — and not to worry about the Kurdish fighters.

The US House of Representatives voted overwhelming to condemn the president’s withdrawal of US forces from Syria, with both Democrats, and Mr. Trump’s fellow Republicans approving the measure.
For his part, Mr. Trump aimed the same accusation at Ms. Pelosi, Republican leaders said Ms. Pelosi’s behavior was “unbecoming”, and criticized her for “storming out.”
Mr. Trump told reporters at the White House the US is “not a policing agent.”
