Four defendants charged in a multiple indictment by DOJ were identified as Fan Yang, 34, a naturalized citizen of the United States and Lieutenant in the United States Navy residing in Jacksonville, Florida; Yang Yang, 33, wife of Fan Yang, and a naturalized citizen of the United States residing in Jacksonville, Florida; Ge Songtao, 49, a citizen and resident of the People’s Republic of China; and Zheng Yan, 27, a citizen and resident of the People’s Republic of China, as Assistant Attorney General Mr. John C. Demers and US Attorney Maria Chapa Lopez for the Middle District of Florida announced the return of an indictment today of four individuals, including two Chinese nationals, an active-duty United States Navy officer, and his wife, on charges relating to a conspiracy to unlawfully smuggle military-style inflatable boats, with Evinrude MFE military outboard motors, to the People’s Republic of China.
Fan Yang has also been charged with making a false statement to a firearms dealer, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years’ imprisonment, and with making false official statements in his application for a security clearance, which carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment, with the Navy officer and two other defendants have also been charged with conspiring to violate firearms law, and the Navy officer has been charged with an additional firearms-related offense and with making false official statements.
All three have been charged with conspiring to violate laws prohibiting an alien admitted under a nonimmigrant visa from possessing a firearm and prohibiting the transfer of a firearm to a nonresident.

Reports indicate that nearly 50 armored vehicles and scores of Iraq-registered trucks dispatched by the US military arrived in northern Syria’s Sarrin village via the strategic M4 highway that connects the Syrian districts of Manbij and Qamishli, after Ankara and Moscow reached a deal under which YPG/PKK terrorists will pull back 18.6 miles south of Turkey’s border with northern Syria within 150 hours, and security forces from Turkey and Russia will conduct joint patrols there.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the European Union — has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
The US military bases in Sarrin and Sabit villages around 18 miles south of the Turkey-Syria border was previously evacuated and destroyed during Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring.

Authorities in Kabul burned about 28 tons of seized narcotic drugs in two provinces, starting with the northern Baghlan province, where some 15 tons of narcotics were put on fire and destroyed by provincial police on the outskirts of provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri city, provincial police chief Gen.Wais Ahmad Samimi.
In 2018, some 6,400 tons of poppy opium were produced in western and southern parts of the country, where government security forces have little presence, much lesser compared with 9,000 tons in 2017, according to official figures.
The illicit drugs were confiscated by Counter-Narcotics Police of Afghanistan (CNPA) and other security organization in the two provinces within the past one year, the authorities reported.
Later on, about 13 tons of drugs were demolished in Lashkar Gah, capital of southern Helmand province, according to Helmand’s police chief Col. Hasamuddin, including opium, heroin, morphine, hashish, methamphetamine, and other types of illegal drugs.

The Islamic Merkeldom of Germany chef Andre Domke entered the record books, this time for producing the largest serving of solyanka, a traditional Russian soup popular in eastern Germany, a spicy and sour dish is said to be a favorite of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The world record was set in Heringsdorf on the German Baltic Sea island of Usedom in front of about 100 hungry spectators, with Domke made 71 US gallons of solyanka, which is a staple across Russia and Eastern Europe.
