Two mass shootings that killed 29 people in Texas and Ohio have shaken the United States, as Democratic presidential candidates called for stricter gun laws, and some extreme leftys accused President Trump of being a white nationalist.
The first massacre occurred in the heavily Hispanic border city of El Paso, where a gunman killed 20 people at a Walmart store before surrendering, followed by the discovery of a racist, anti-immigrant screed posted online shortly before the incident to the man arrested over the shooting, 21-year-old Patrick Wood Crusius.
In Ohio, a gunman opened fire in a downtown district of Dayton early on Sunday killing nine people, including his sister, and wounding at least 26 others.
Dozens were also wounded on Saturday and early Sunday in the attacks, which occurred within just 13 hours of each other.
President Trump told reporters in New Jersey that “hate has no place in our country,” and said he would present a full statement on Monday.

Power was restored in most parts of Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, after the city of 10 million people went without electricity for more than nine hours due to technical issues, state power company PLN said on Sunday (local time).
The city is prone to power outages, but most are short and confined to certain areas, which also hit neighboring provinces, spread across an area that is home to more than 100 million people and appeared to have affected most of the capital, prompting the use of generators in some offices, malls and apartments.
The blackout began just before noon and PLN said it had been able to switch 17 electrical substations around Jakarta back on by 9:00pm but two others were still in the process of being restarted and four remained off.
Due to the blackout, the mass rapid transit (MRT) system in Jakarta had to evacuate passengers from trains.
