Yahoo which was bought by Verizon earlier this year, said an investigation had shown the account breach went much further than originally thought, with all of its three billion users affected in a hacking attack dating back to 2013, but stolen data did not include passwords in clear text, payment card or bank account data.

Investigators of the Las Vegas Mandalay Bay casino shooting by Stephen Paddock, the gunman who killed 59 people and injured more than 500 on Sunday, found out that he had set-up a number of cameras in and around his hotel suite.

Sheriff Lombardo told reporters that, “This individual was pre-meditated. Obviously pre-meditated, the fact that he had the type of weaponry and the amount of weaponry in that room. It was pre-planned extensively and I’m pretty sure he evaluated everything he did in his actions.”

Catalonia will declare independence from Spain in a matter of days, “act at the end of this week or the beginning of next”, according to leader of the autonomous region Carles Puigdemont. The remark was not warmly accepted by
Spain’s King Felipe VI who said organizers of the vote put themselves “outside the law”, and that the situation in Spain was “extremely serious”, calling his nation to unify.

16:47 Russian President Vladimir Putin described the shooting as “shocking in its cruelty,” according to a statement from the Kremlin. It said Putin had sent his condolences to President Trump and offered words of support to the families of the victims.

16:28 German Chancellor Angela Merkel has written to Trump, expressing her shock and dismay over the events.

“I was shocked by the news from Las Vegas. Our sympathy and condolences go to the relatives and families of the victims,” she said.
