There was NO DEAL made with Turkey for the release and return of Pastor Andrew Brunson. I don’t make deals for hostages. There was, however, great appreciation on behalf of the United States, which will lead to good, perhaps great, relations between the United States & Turkey!

Pastor Andrew Brunson, released by Turkey, will be with me in the Oval Office at 2:30 P.M. (this afternoon). It will be wonderful to see and meet him. He is a great Christian who has been through such a tough experience. I would like to thank President @RT_Erdogan for his help!

2…………> Death On The Top Of The World: Himalayans

A grizzly death descended in a camp on a Himalayan peak in western Nepal that was hit by a snowstorm, killing nine climbers that had been reported missing after after freezing weather prevented rescue helicopters to land due to strong wind gusts and near invisibility conditions.

Police official reported that villagers who reached the site at the base camp of Mount Gurja, a 21,000 feet-high peak, spotted seven bodies on the mountain slopes.

“The bodies have not been identified. Going by the color of their skin four bodies must be of Korean climbers, while two are Nepalese [guides],” Mr. Budhamagar said.

3…………>Longest Flight: 10,000 Miles

The world’s longest non-stop commercial flight has landed in New York, after originating in Singapore of more than 10,000 miles in 17 hours and 52 minutes.

Flight SQ22 landed at 0529 US Eastern time with 150 passengers and 17 crew. Geoffrey Thomas, editor-in-chief of Airlineratings.com, said the time passed swiftly and had not seemed like a 17-and-a-half hour flight. He told the BBC:

“The flight was effortless and very smooth. “On board, the consensus was that the time passed very quickly and didn’t seem like 17.5 hours.” The inaugural flight from Changi Airport to Newark’s international airport, which services New York, took off amid much fanfare.

4…………> China Flexes Muscle: $3 Billion Bond Sale

Bank of China sold $3 billion of sovereign dollar bonds, making it the third such sale in the last 14 years, selling $1.5 billion worth of 5-year bonds at 3.25 percent, $1 billion worth of 10-year bonds at 3.5 percent and $500 million value of 30-year bonds at 4 percent.

Market observers labeled the move as “an even bigger demonstration of China’s power in the international bond market,” and a subtle warning to the Trump’s administration that came in as markets suffered a global drop on Wall Street’s due to the relentless raising of interest rates by the invisible, illegal, answerable to no one trump US government, aka the Federal Reserve.

The Chinese bonds were priced at 30, 45 and 70 basis points over US Treasuries for the five-year, 10-year and 30-year bonds, a clear indication of the creditworthiness of the country’s financial power and stability.

5…………> Forged By The Sea: Navy 243rd Anniversary

The Navy’s top leaders have sent messages to the fleet on the Navy’s 243rd birthday reflecting on the theme “Forged by the Sea” as it represents the aspirational outcome of every Sailor’s journey in uniform and that every Sailor is shaped and strengthened into a more capable version of themselves through naval service. Secretary of the Navy Richard V. Spencer said in a message to the fleet that the Navy is ready to fight, respond and defend wherever there is need but it needs to do it with a sense of urgency and efficiency.

“Because of your hard work and dedication, the foundation for restoring readiness and increasing lethality has been set. But as we enter our 244th year of service, we must now build on that foundation. I need you to continually think of how to improve the delivery of the Navy the nation needs with a committed sense of urgency,” Mr. Spencer said. Emphasizing that how we invest our time and resources are important, Spencer also said that the National Defense Strategy provides guidelines in that regard.

“We have developed plans informed by the National Defense Strategy, which recognizes that our primary role is warfighting. Now each of us must align our efforts in order to accomplish these plans,” he said. “With your help, I have no doubt we will leverage every resource, leading practice, and efficiency we can find with the professionalism, integrity and accountability the American people expect.”
