Today, President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence met with Democratic leaders Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in the Oval Office.
Their dialogue was constructive. The President and the Democrat leaders agreed to support the passage of historic criminal justice reform, and they discussed significant progress with the Farm Bill, which passed in the Senate today. Major disagreement remains, however, on the crucial issue of border security and transparency.
“The wall will get built,” President Trump said. “A lot of the wall is built. It’s been very effective.” The numbers back him up. It’s time for Congress to step up and finish the job.
The Democrats’ priority is clear, however: They would rather keep the U.S. border open to illegal immigrants than keep the Government open to serve American citizens.
Open borders are dangerous. The Department of Homeland Security reports that it stops an average of 10 known or suspected terrorists each day from entering the United States. And despite claiming to support border security, Democrats in practice have blocked all efforts to secure our southern border and protect our communities.
In 2006, when their base was different, Democrats were singing another tune. Back then, party leaders such as Senators Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Schumer himself all voted for the Secure Fences Act. Democrats openly admitted that stronger border security was essential for a safer America.

A federal grand jury indicted five men in four countries on federal charges alleging they distributed or offered for sale stolen digital versions of hundreds of motion pictures and television shows – including “Fifty Shades of Grey,” “The Expendables 3” and “The Walking Dead” – before their official release.
The defendants also illicitly acquired copies of films by other means, including recording cinema screenings and obtaining copies of motion pictures distributed to movie industry professionals, according to the indictment, which outlines criminal conduct beginning in early 2013 and continuing into the spring of 2015.
The ring allegedly put the stolen files on a server in France, which contained more than 25,000 motion picture-related files, including the feature films “Godzilla,” “How to Train Your Dragon 2” and “Horrible Bosses. The defendants used a shared PayPal account to receive and distribute money from the sale of the pirated motion pictures, the indictment states. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which received substantial assistance from the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit of the City of London Police HSI received cooperation from French and Canadian authorities in obtaining evidence stored abroad District Court, members of the hacking conspiracy, broke into computer systems used by Hollywood film production companies and stole digital files, including feature films, trailers, television series episodes, and audio tracks. According to the indictment, they offered the stolen motion picture files for sale via private electronic communications, but they also uploaded stolen movies onto pirate movie websites. Once they obtained the movies and other content, the defendants allegedly altered the properties of the computer files to make it easier to distribute online.

Australia now recognizes West Jerusalem, being the seat of the Knesset and many of the institutions of government, is the capital of Israel,” said Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in his confirmation that his government will recognize West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The US embassy was relocated from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in May after the final status determination, and Mr. Morrison’s announcement comes after a period of consultation with politicians in Australia and allies abroad, emphasizing that Australia’s embassy would not move from Tel Aviv until a peace settlement was achieved, de-facto recognizing the aspirations of the Palestinians to a state with a capital in East Jerusalem.

In a tweet, Mr Trump described Mr Kelly as a “great patriot”, who had served the country with distinction, despite a quote that was included in a book about Mr. Trump by the veteran investigative journalist Bob Woodward where the General allegedly called Mr. Trump an “idiot”, a remark he vehemently denied.
Gen. Kelly is said to have used the description repeatedly and also allegedly told that “it’s pointless to try to convince him [Donald Trump] of anything”.
