Brad Bench of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Seattle Field Office announced today that after years of contentious litigation and attempts to obstruct justice, Andrew Franklin Kowalczyk, 44, formerly of Portland, was sentenced today to 270 years in federal prison followed by a life term of supervised release for the repeated sexual abuse, exploitation and torture of three young children.
“First and foremost, I commend the victims and their families for the strength they exuded while cooperating with a very difficult investigation,” Mr.Brad Bench said.
On Dec. 6, 2018, after a four-day trial and deliberating for just 20 minutes, a federal jury in Portland convicted Kowalczyk on nine counts of producing child pornography.

White House national security adviser John Bolton has resigned at the request of President Trump, who said he called for the resignation due to numerous policy disagreements.
Mr. Trump announced the decision on Twitter: “I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning.”
Mr. Bolton, a leading foreign policy hawk who was Mr Trump’s third national security adviser, was widely known to have pressed the President for a harder line on issues such as North Korea.
He was also a chief architect of Mr Trump’s strong stance on Iran, and had advocated a tougher approach on Russia and Afghanistan.
