As Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser ended a state of emergency in the American capital, calling for the removal of federal forces from the district, while soldiers were still at the Washington Lincoln Memoria, President Trump jokingly said, “Hopefully, George(Washington) is looking down right now and saying: This is a great thing”.

“The protests have been peaceful, and last night, the Metropolitan Police Department did not make a single arrest,” Mayor Bowser disagreed, writing in a letter she posted on her Twitter account.

But Mr. Trump continued his lecture to the state governors, who preferred to let their citizens be terrorized by Antifa punks “scorched earth attacks”, rather to enforce the law as required by their oath of office:

“[I am]….suggesting to some governors that are too proud … Don’t be proud. Get the job done. You’ll end up doing much better in the end, calling the National Guard. Call me. You have to dominate the streets. You can’t let what’s happening, happen,” he said in remarks at the White House Rose Garden.

The worldwide death toll from the coronavirus infection has topped 391,000; over 6.6 million cases have been detected, with a fresh situation report estimating the number of people who have recovered globally at 2,870,596.

Americas continue to lead with 3 million infections, and 168,553 related deaths, while Europe has the world’s highest death toll, at 182,308, with 2.2 million cases confirmed.
The United States gained 2.5 million jobs in May despite continued business shutdowns forced by the novel coronavirus crisis and the nation’s unemployment rate now stands at 13.3 percent, compared with the historic 14.7 percent just a month ago, the Labor Department said in its monthly employment report on Friday.

“Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 2.5 million in May, and the unemployment rate declined to 13.3 percent. These improvements in the labor market reflected a limited resumption of economic activity that had been curtailed in March and April due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and efforts to contain it,” the Labor Department reporting the 20.5 million job losses in April had now been reversed.

“Getting along with China would be a good thing. I don’t know if that’s gonna happen. I think they want to get along very much with us. Then you say, how come it came out to Europe, to the world, to the United States. So it didn’t go to China – they stopped it cold, they knew it was a problem, but they didn’t stop it from coming to the United States, Europe and the rest of the world. Somebody has to ask these questions, and we’ll get down to the answer,” Mr. Trump said.

Calling the coronavirus “a gift from China – a very bad gift,” the president suggested that questions should be asked why Beijing stopped COVID-19 from spreading in China but not other parts of the world.
