Aid and human rights organizations say they fear that the COVID-19 vaccines could become a tool for governments, rebel groups and other fighters involved in conflicts in the Middle East to advance their own goals, hence creating a tool that “is a form of indirect, passive biological warfare,” according to US experts, as groups fighting around the region are using the vaccination rollout for their own ends, by blocking aid or distributing it to friends and allies only.

There are fears the same sort of thing might happen with COVID-19 vaccines:

“We have significant concerns for several reasons,” says a Syria expert at Human Rights Watch, as her organization is worried about the destruction of infrastructure in Syria, everything from the deliberate targeting of hospitals and medical workers to lack of water or power, and the politics of supplying vaccines to Syria.

Online claims of coronavirus vaccines being lethal are few following a string of deaths in care homes that vaccinated residents, and after at least 37 million coronavirus vaccinations have been administered in these countries, according to experts, the total number of reported deaths that have occurred post-vaccination is fewer than 250, with US data included user-submitted information, at least 181 of these cases have not been independently verified.

The Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI), which is in charge of vaccination in Germany, investigated 10 deaths in the country between several hours to four days following coronavirus vaccinations:

“If the elderly or people with severe pre-existing conditions are vaccinated, there will be a certain number of accidental deaths that occur shortly after vaccination, which cannot be causally associated with the vaccination”.

China’s space program is ambitiously reaching one milestone after another, as in December, it returned the first lunar surface samples to Earth in decades, and previously became the first nation to soft-land a spacecraft on the far side of the moon.

Now the China National Space Administration (CNSA) released a photo of Mars from its Tianwen-1 probe, which is due to enter orbit around the red planet in the coming days, with the spacecraft is just one of three arriving in Martian orbit this month, with the image was taken roughly 2.2 million kilometers from Mars, just before Tianwen-1 began a corrective burn to take it into Martian orbit. At present, the probe is just 1.1 million kilometers from Mars.
