2…………..> The Great Escape: Paraguayan Style

At least 75 inmates, including members of Brazil’s most powerful First Capital Command (PCC) criminal gang , escaped from a Paraguayan prison after digging a tunnel in an operation suspected to involve security members, hence the director of the prison, along with six other staff, have been fired after authorities discovered a secret underground passage in the city of Pedro Juan Caballero, near the Brazilian border, and found cells filled with as many as 200 bags of earth.

“It’s not possible that nobody saw anything in all this time,” Justice Minister Cecilia Pérez told the Telefuturo station.

“This isn’t the work of one day or one night.”

Interior Minister Euclides Acevedo said in a statement that the tunnel itself may have been a ruse to cover complicity by prison officials and that many of the inmates may have been allowed to walk out of the prison’s main gate.

The gang was founded in the 1990s inside a Sao Paulo prison and it has extended its influence throughout the country, becoming one of Brazil’s largest criminal organizations.

3……………> And The Envelope Goes To: Kosher Food

While Jewish-owned companies were proudly in attendance, many of the firms who were present at the main hall at the Meadow-lands Exposition Center in New Jersey,  bustling with more than 6,000 attendees taking a look at 360 food and drink exhibitors from around the world, were not owned or run by Jews, but had still chosen to go kosher, including businesses from Pakistan, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Italy.

The hundreds of products on show included everything from pizza bases made from cauliflower, to salsas, ice cream sandwiches, cider, beef empanadas (a Mexican pastry), Italian sorbets, gins, charcuterie, tequila, and even a range of biscuits infused with cannabis oil.

“Kosher food appeals to a more health-conscious consumer,” said Menachem Lubinsky, chief executive of the event organizer.

“It’s like a new generation of kosher. It’s different from those who have been there for many years, the basic kosher staples.”

4…………> The Eruption Of The Taal Volcano:Philippines

Taal volcano in the Philippines started to erupt on Sunday, gruesome rattling sounds and tremors being followed by a huge plume of ash  emitted into the sky, as towns around Taal, about 45 miles south of the capital Manila, received a thick coating of ash and sludge, and in the early hours of Monday morning the volcano began to spew lava.
Taal is the Philippines’ second most active volcano, one of the world’s smallest volcanoes, and has recorded at least 34 eruptions in the past 450 years, with lightning  seen striking around the volcano’s ash clouds as it erupted.

1…………> Silence IS Propaganda: Internet

Anti-terror police in Europe and the United States shut down Daesh(IS) propaganda sites in a coordinated international strike to identify radicals and silence their message of hate, targeting Aamaq news agency, al-Bayan radio and the Halumu and Nasher news sites.

Belgian authorities were joined security officials from Canada, Britain, France, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Romania and the United States to seize servers and data in an operation that began in late 2015 after Daesh attacks in Paris killed 130 people.

1…………> Fire The Traitors: Trump

“Why is A.G. Jeff Sessions asking the Inspector General to investigate potentially massive FISA abuse?” the U.S. president wrote in a tweet that was also critical of the IG, Michael Horowitz. “Will take forever, has no prosecutorial power and already late with reports on Comey etc. Isn’t the I.G. an Obama guy? Why not use Justice Department lawyers? DISGRACEFUL!” President Trump again attacked Attorney General Jeff Sessions, this time for not ordering the Justice Department to investigate the agency’s use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act in its Russia probe.

Horowitz is investigating the FBI and Justice Department’s handling of an investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email arrangements.

The Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Trey Gowdy, another “Deep State” operative who regularly “clashed” with the Obama administration and Clinton, not surprisingly defended Horowitz as an unbiased investigator.

“I have had a number of interactions with Inspector General Horowitz, including as recently as earlier this month. He has been fair, fact-centric, and appropriately confidential with his work. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate without a single dissent. I have complete confidence in him and hope he is given the time, the resources and the independence to complete his work,” Gowdy said in a statement.

Sessions said that the inspector general would look into Republican claims that FISA standards were abused in the early stages of the FBI investigation into Trump campaign associates and ties to Russians.

“The inspector general will take that as one of the matters they’ll deal with,” Sessions said on Tuesday, concluding that it is “just the appropriate thing.”

2…………> The Envelope Please: Trump’s Legacy

For over two years members of GOP Establishment, led by the Bush family in general, and by Jeb “All my relatives are Mexicans” Bush in particular, supported all this time wholeheartedly by KBI(Koch Bureau of Investigation”, have offended, demeaned, ridiculed and tried to undermine President Trump and his agenda of economy based on supply and demand, favorable trade agreements, and strict enforcement of immigration laws.

Where have all “Trump haters gone,” as the song goes, amid signs that the dissent is rapidly evaporating?

According to a poll of CPAC conference attendees, 93% approve of the job Mr. Trump is doing in the White House.

In order to highlight the stupidity, narrow-mindedness, arrogance and lack of vision of the so-called GOP Establishment, enter former Texas Governor Rick Perry, now Mr. Trump’s energy secretary.

He described Mr.Trump’s politics as “a toxic mix of demagoguery and mean-spiritedness and nonsense” and call his candidacy a “cancer on conservatism”, and now, a year later referred to himself as a “soldier in the [Trump’s] army”.

Wasn’t he the same Perry who had trouble finishing a sentence during the debates?

3………….> El Paso Drug Dealer: Nailed By ICE

El Paso, Texas man named Jesus Gerardo Prieto Jr, 38, was arrested on a criminal complaint charging him with heroin and methamphetamine trafficking offenses in Doña Ana County, New Mexico. He was arrested after about 432 grams of methamphetamine and 117 grams of heroin were discovered concealed inside his vehicle at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in Las Cruces.

During Monday’s proceedings, Prieto pleaded guilty to the indictment without a plea agreement. At sentencing, Prieto faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison. Prieto remains in custody pending a sentencing hearing, which has yet to be scheduled.

4………..> Brazilian Arms Smuggler: Charged

A Port St. Lucie man named Frederik Barbieri, 36, of Ft. Pierce, Florida,  was indicted on charges related to the illegal exportation of firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition. He is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States, one count of delivering firearms to a contract carrier without notification, that shipment contained firearms, one count of smuggling firearms and fire accessories from the United States to Brazil and one count of exporting firearms and firearms accessories without a license.

According to court documents, Barbieri entered into a conspiracy to illegally export firearms to Brazil without a license, which lasted from May 2013 to June 2017. Barbieri and his co-conspirators purchased firearms, firearms accessories and ammunition, obliterated the serial numbers and concealed the weapons, the accessories and the ammunition in different packages.

If convicted, Barbieri faces a maximum statutory sentence of five years on Counts 1 and 2, a maximum statutory sentence of 10 years on Count 3, and a maximum statutory sentence of 20 years on Count 4.

5…………> Lock-Up: Oakland

Federal immigration officials arrested more than 150 illegals in violation of federal U.S. immigration law in Northern California, despite Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf warning of an impending ICE raid.

About half of those arrested by deportation officers had convictions for assault and battery, crimes against children, weapons charges, and DUI, and one violator in particular who was a documented gang member named Armando Nuñez-Salgado, 38, of Mexico.

“Over the past 18 years [Nuñez-Salgado] has accumulated criminal convictions in California that have resulted in more than 15 years of prison sentencing,” according to a spokesman, who added the man “has been previously removed by ICE on four prior occasions” and is a member of the Sureño street gang.

Other arrests include that of another Sureños gang member and other illegal immigrants with criminal convictions from Mexico and Guatemala throughout Northern California.

“The Oakland mayor’s decision to publicize her suspicions about ICE operations further increased that risk for my officers and alerted criminal aliens — making clear that this reckless decision was based on her political agenda,” ICE Deputy Director Thomas Homan said in a statement Tuesday. “Unlike the politicians who attempt to undermine ICE’s critical mission, our officers will continue to fulfill their sworn duty to protect public safety.”

ICE’s said that 864 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions and other public safety threats “remain at large” in the area — two of whom are believed to be living in Oakland.
