1…………> IS Bombed: Casualties

Iraq has launched an air attack on a gathering of Islamic State leaders inside neighboring Syria, strikes hit three houses where IS leaders were allegedly meeting killing 45 members of the hard-line militant group including the “deputy war minister” and a “media emir, according to military sources”

F-16 fighter jets raised an IS compound which was connected by a trench in the town of Hajin, where the leaders were meeting.

“Iraqi F-16 jets carried out a successful air strike that targeted a meeting of Daesh leaders … in the Hajin area within Syrian territory,” the military’s Joint Operations Command said.

2…………> BRI “A Winner”: Wall Street Banker

The BRI aka “Belt and Road Initiative combines not only one of the most transformational economic development initiatives, but also if done right, will bring a lot of positive changes in many of these countries, not just economically, but politically and in many other sectors,” Zubaid Ahmad, the founder and managing partner of Caravanserai Partners LLC, said.

He made the remarks at the event “Belt and Road: Why the Chinese Model Is Winning in South and Southeast Asia” held by China Institute, the oldest bicultural, non-profit organization in the United States to focus exclusively on China.

3…………> Attack On Trump: Sarah Huckabee

The management of a restaurant in Virginia reportedly asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave just as she was about to have dinner with her family.

Jaike Foley-Schultz, who claims to have worked as a waiter at The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, wrote on his Facebook page that he served White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders “for a total of 2 minutes” before the owner “asked her to leave and she complied.”

He also added that Sanders’ family members who were dining with her “left on their own accord” and insisted that the restaurant staff “didn’t actually refuse service or ‘kick her out.'”

This development prompted a large number of people to leave scathing reviews on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Earlier this month, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen had to leave a Mexican restaurant she was dining at when a group of activists interrupted her meal by repeatedly yelling “shame” and “end Texas concentration camps” at her, according to The Hill. (Sputnik News)

4…………> Mexico vs South Korea 2-1: Chicharito

Mexico doubled up after their win against Germany, beating South Korea and virtually booking a spot in the last 16. South Korea pulled one back at the last but it was not enough.

South Korea 1 – 2 Mexico
(Son 90+3′ – Vela pen 25′, Chicharito 66′)

Mexico had the better of South Korea for most of the game but still faced a nervy finish when Son Heung-min scored the pick of the evening’s goals to hand his side a lifeline. The left-footed curler was too little, too late as it transpired, leaving South Korea very poorly positioned after two defeats in two. Mexico is all-but guaranteed a spot in the last 16, but it’s still not quite set in stone.

If Sweden scores any points in their late game against Germany, by drawing or winning, then Mexico’s ticket to the knockout stages would be booked.

Mexico had gone ahead from the penalty spot, doubling their lead midway through the first half. National record goalscorer Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez notched his 50th international goal, ultimately deciding the outcome. As so often for Chicharito, a clever first touch in traffic made him the space for the finish. (DW News)

5…………> A Message Of Peace

Turn of the channel on people who have offended and demeaned the teachings of our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, also known as Rabbi Emmanuel. Walk away, let them dry on the scorching sun. Listen to the sound of Christus Vincit, a message of peace and hope.

1…………> Arming The Cartels: Texas

Special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) on Tuesday led an enforcement action that resulted in seizing 21 rifles, 962 rounds of ammunition, ammunition magazines, belt-fed magazines, ballistic plates, armor carriers and ghillie (camouflage) suits.

“Homeland Security Investigations will continue to leverage its expansive authorities to combat transnational criminal organizations,” said Assistant Special Agent in Charge Adrian Flores, HSI Laredo. “HSI’s partnership with federal, state and local law enforcement in Laredo is crucial to ensuring public safety and national security in the U.S. and Mexico.”

According to law enforcement authorities, in June 2018, Task Force members with Laredo’s High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) were conducting surveillance of a downtown Laredo parking lot. They witnessed individual transfer boxes from one vehicle to another. Task Force members approached the individual and conducted a preliminary search inside the vehicle. During the search, they discovered a large cache of weapons and other related merchandise. Law enforcement suspect that the merchandise was about to be smuggled to Mexico.

2…………> New Philippines IS Emir: Abu Dar

The bounty on the head of Southern Philippines new IS “Emir” Owayda Benito Marohombsar, aka Abu Dar, has been raised from 3 million pesos ($56,150) to 6 million pesos ($112,300), due to Army difficulties capturing him in the hinterlands, as thousands of families have fled their homes in the province of Lanao del Sur following military operations against jihadists of the Maute group.

Firefights erupted after the military launched intelligence operations to hunt down Abu Dar and around 50 other remnants of the Maute group – the militant group that launched a five-month-long siege in the southern Philippines’ Marawi City last year.
“We found their bunkers. They had towers, foxholes, empty shells and a cache of ammunition,” Army spokesman said.Military rule has been extended by Congress until the end of this year in a bid to quell the threat of terrorism.

3…………> Trump’s “Migrant Children”: Kept On Bases

DOD officials said that about 20,000 migrant “unaccompanied alien children” will be housed on four military bases in Texas and Arkansas, a move precipitated by President Trump’s reversal on the child separation policy debate.

Stubborn differences between conservative and more moderate Republicans in the House have stalled immigration legislation on Capitol Hill, with a vote on a compromise measure delayed until next week.

Mr. Trump said that even if a measure passed, it was doomed in the Senate.

Republicans should stop wasting their time on Immigration until after we elect more Senators and Congressmen/women in November. Dems are just playing games, have no intention of doing anything to solve this decades-old problem. We can pass great legislation after the Red Wave!

4…………> “Fake News” Lies: Migrant Babies

The “Open Borders Foundation” and its “Fake News” media clowns lied again about the little girl who had become the public face of US migrant family separations, a photograph of the Honduran toddler sobbing in a pink jacket was taken at the scene of a border detention, with “failing” Time magazine using the image for its latest cover, depicting President Donald Trump looming over the girl with the caption: “Welcome to America”.

The image was taken by a photographer for the news agency Getty Images, John Moore, on 12 June at McAllen, Texas, as the mother had been breastfeeding her child after crossing the Rio Grande in a raft in the moments before they were detained.

Girl’s father Mr. Valera said his daughter and her mother, Sandra Sanchez, have been detained together in the border town of McAllen as Ms. Sanchez sought asylum, a claim verified by Honduran Deputy Foreign Minister Nelly Jerez.

Carlos Ruiz, the Border Patrol agent who stopped Ms. Sanchez and her daughter, said the mother was asked to set the child down so she could be searched.

About 500 children have been reunited with their families since May, a Homeland Security official said on Thursday.

1…………> “Love Is In The Air”: Trump, Un Lunch

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who rarely observed outside his isolated country, visited tourist sites on Singapore’s waterfront, enjoying the “Gardens by the Bay”, Singapore’s famous waterfront park with futuristic installations, which boasts the largest glass greenhouse and tallest indoor, man-made waterfall in the world as onlookers had gathered outside the Marina Bay Sands hotel, which resembles a ship perched on three columns at the mouth of the Singapore River.

Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who accompanied Mr. Kim on his tour of the sites, posted a selfie to Facebook with the North Korean leader and Singapore Education Minister Ong Ye Kung.

The Swiss-educated leader, who is believed to be 34, has not left his country since taking office in 2011 other than to visit China and the South Korean side of the border Demilitarized Zone, which separates the two Koreas.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump forecast a “nice” outcome for his meeting with Mr. Kim, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the preparatory talks between the two nations had moved quite rapidly.

“We anticipate that they will come to their logical conclusion even more quickly than we anticipated,” Mr. Pompeo said.

2…………> We ‘been Cheated & Mistreated: Mr. Trump

The president tweeted that America was paying disproportionately more towards the costs of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (Nato) than fellow members.

“They pay only a fraction of the cost – and laugh,” he wrote, adding that the EU needed to pay “much more” to help fund the international military alliance, which comprises 28 members including the UK, US, Germany, Canada, and Turkey. Not all EU members are Nato members.

Mr. Trump went on to say that the US gets “unfairly clobbered” on trade despite “protecting Europe at a great financial loss”.

“Change is coming!” he warned.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Sorry, we cannot let our friends, or enemies, take advantage of us on Trade anymore. We must put the American worker first!

Mr. Trump has consistently said that countries that have a trade surplus with the US – meaning they export more to the US than they import – are “taking advantage” of the US.

While only part of the greater US spending is directed to the collective defense of its Nato allies, President Trump has argued since before his election that the allies are freeloading on the backs of US taxpayers and are failing to spend enough of their own resources on their defense.

Mr. Trump said his decision to reject the joint G7 communique was based on Mr. Trudeau’s “false statements… and the fact that Canada is charging massive tariffs to our US farmers, workers and companies”.

4…………> The Un Dynasty: Long-Term Threat

Both Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump have a history of making provocative threats against each other. Will the dispute over nuclear weapons escalate and will the meeting between the North Korean leader and the U.S. president take place?

Some attribute the recent chain of events to the long-term stability of North Korea’s ruling dynasty. North Korea has consistently refused to give up the nuclear program that it has been pursuing since 1962. Washington has been equally consistent in changing its policies toward Pyongyang. And what will become of the US commitment to protect South Korea and Japan? Our report outlines the history of North Korea’s nuclear program — and also explains how the US has helped to enhance Pyongyang’s strategic position. Every recent U-S administration — from Bill Clinton to Donald Trump — has changed the country’s policy toward North Korea. American presidents come and go, but the Kim dynasty remains in place.

5…………> The “Mosul Eye”: Islamic State Atrocities

Omar Mohammed, a young historian with a Ph.D. in history from the Iraqi city of Mosul, founded a platform to document the crimes committed by “Islamic State.” Has Mosul Eye made a difference?

“Mosul Eye was for Mosul, but it was also addressed to the rest of the world,” Mohammed recently told DW, discussing the more than 300,000 online followers his platform has amassed. “‘Islamic State’ wanted to isolate the city so that there were no witnesses, so globalizing Mosul became an act of protection,” he added.

And as a witness, he took it upon himself to relate the horrors committed by IS in Mosul that countered the group’s narrative in real time. “It was a way to protect the future of my city so that coming generations would know what happened here,” the 32-year-old scholar said. Mohammed began writing under the pseudonym Mosul Eye, along with other names that disguised his identity, shortly after IS issued its so-called Constitution of the City in June 2014 — 16 articles by which it ruled Mosul in accordance with a strict form of Sharia law, described by Mohammed as “the rules of death.”

The list of atrocities he witnessed and documented included the mass displacement of Christians and the enslavement of Yazidis, execution by stoning of accused adulterers and throwing people believed to be homosexuals from high buildings.
