2…………> New Trump Soldier: AG Barr

Saying that Mr. Barr was “my first choice from day one,” President Trump gave the nod to former US attorney-general William Barr to lead once again the Justice Department, a role that would put him in charge of the federal probe into Russian election interference.

If confirmed by the Senate, Mr. Barr would take over from Matthew Whitaker, who has been serving in an acting capacity since Mr. Trump forced out Jeffrey Sessions a month ago. Mr. Whitaker had been Mr. Sessions’s chief of staff.

Mr. Barr, a lawyer who was previously attorney-general from 1991 to 1993 under late president George HW Bush, had defended Mr. Trump’s controversial decision to fire then-FBI director James Comey in May 2017 when Mr. Comey was leading the Russia probe.

3…………> Applied Global Warming: Deadly India Pollution

India is home to the world’s 14 most polluted cities, whose toxic atmosphere claimed 1.24 million lives in 2017, or 12.5 % of total deaths recorded that year, with about 670,000 deaths caused by air pollution in the broader India’s areas, where more than 51% of the people who died being younger than 70.

The Indian capital, New Delhi was the epicenter of the tiny particulate matte PM 2.5, that can reach deep into the lungs and cause significant health problems, the study concluded.

4…………> Paris On Fire: Ayatollah Macron AWOL

89,000 police are deployed across the Islamic Sheikdom of France, with 8,000 in Paris alone as protests also spread to Belgium, with Prime Minister Charles Michel joining Grand Rabbinical Ayatollah President Emmanuel Macron as the target of frustrations by the “Yellow vests” who are demanding lower taxes, higher salaries and cheaper energy cost.

Authorities said 575 people had been searched and briefly arrested and that 361 of them remained in custody after police found potential weapons such as hammers, baseball bats and metal petanque balls on them.

Hundreds of protesters were milling around the Arc de Triomphe monument, which was defaced with anti-Macron graffiti last Saturday when rioters also torched dozens of cars and looted shops in the worst rioting in Paris since May 1968.

5…………> A Leading Space Explorer: China

After landing its “Jade Rabbit” rover on the Moon five years ago and planning to send its Chang’e 5 probes there next year and have it return to Earth with samples, China has launched a ground-breaking mission to land a spacecraft on the mostly unexplored far side of the Moon, demonstrating its growing ambitions as a space power to rival Russia, the European Union and US.

A Long March 3B rocket carrying the lunar probe Chang’e 4 blasted from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province in south-western China, placing in orbit the lander-rover combination designed to explore above and below the lunar surface during its 27-day journey to the South Pole-Aitken basin’s of the Von Karman crater.

The Moon’s far side is also known as the dark side because it faces away from Earth and remains comparatively unknown. It has a different composition to sites on the near side, where previous missions have landed.

2…………> Finally Back Home: A Tuskegee Pilot

The remains of one of the Tuskegee Airmen have been identified for the first time, at the site where Captain Lawrence Dickson’s plane crashed on the Italy-Austria border during a recon mission in 1944. An American team discovered the wreckage in 2012, and excavated the site five years later, using DNA of his daughter to identify his remains. He is the first of 27 Tuskegee Airmen who are listed as missing in action to be found. The 24-year-old captain in the 100th Fighter Squadron took off in his P-51 Mustang fighter plane from a base in Italy to conduct an aerial reconnaissance mission on December 23, 1944, and crashed when the engine failed, and the aircraft was seen crashing along the Italy-Austria border.

3…………> A Hero Passes Away: President George H.W. Bush

“George H.W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens,” that’s how his son, former president George W. Bush remembered his father who passed away aged 94.

President Donald Trump also issued a statement eulogizing the former president.

Melania [Trump] and I join with a grieving Nation to mourn the loss of former President George H.W. Bush, who passed away last night. Our hearts ache with his loss, and we, with the American people, send our prayers to the entire Bush family, as we honor the life and legacy of 41.”

Family spokesman Jim McGrath confirmed his death in a brief statement but did not specify a cause.

4…………> French Revolution, Part 2: Down With Macron

“Yellowjackets will triumph about the fluorescent vests protesters wear,” a rebellious graffiti sprayed onto the Arc de Triomphe announced as 107 people were arrested protesting in a wave of anger about raising taxes in clashes with police in the Islamic Sheikdom of France.

This is the third straight weekend of violent uprising against the policies of the country’s president, Rabbinical Grand Ayatollah Emmanuel Macron, as furious citizens build barricades in the middle of streets in central Paris, lighting fires and throwing rocks at officers.

They initially began over increasing fuel tax hikes and have since expanded to include a broad range of demands related to the cost of living, with the Prime Minister saying more than 5,000 protesters were on and around the Champs-Elysees avenue, throwing large rocks and removing the barriers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, while others sang the national anthem.

    ……MAKE FRANCE GREAT AGAIN!

The problem is that Emmanuel suffers from a very low Approval Rating in France, 26%, and an unemployment rate of almost 10%. He was just trying to get onto another subject. By the way, there is no country more Nationalist than France, very proud people-and rightfully so!……..

On Trade, France makes excellent wine, but so does the U.S. The problem is that France makes it very hard for the U.S. to sell its wines into France, and charges big Tariffs, whereas the U.S. makes it easy for French wines, and charges very small Tariffs. Not fair, must change!

Emmanuel Macron suggests building its own army to protect Europe against the U.S., China and Russia. But it was Germany in World Wars One & Two – How did that work out for France? They were starting to learn German in Paris before the U.S. came along. Pay for NATO or not!

I just approved an expedited request for a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of California. Wanted to respond quickly in order to alleviate some of the incredible suffering going on. I am with you all the way. God Bless all of the victims and families affected.

2…………>Ayatollah Macron vs. Field Marshal Trump: Gloves Off

President Trump went on a Twitter attack against his Islamic Sheikdom of France counterpart, slamming Rabbinical Grand Ayatollah Emmanuel Macron for what he called low approval ratings and high unemployment.

“The problem is that Emmanuel suffers from a meager Approval Rating in France, 26%, and an unemployment rate of almost 10%,” Trump said.

“He was trying to get onto another subject. By the way, there is no country more Nationalist than France, very proud people-and rightfully so!”

“MAKE FRANCE GREAT AGAIN!” Trump added, mirroring his campaign slogan.

The President targeted a speech Macron delivered over the weekend on the centenary of World War I in which the French president derided the perils of nationalism in a veiled critique of Trump’s America First doctrine, telling French radio: “We have to protect ourselves with respect to China, Russia and even the United States of America.”

“Emmanuel Macron suggests building its army to protect Europe against the U.S., China, and Russia. But it was Germany in World Wars One & Two – How did that work out for France?” he said. “They were starting to learn German in Paris before the U.S. came along. Pay for NATO or not!”

3…………> Sore Losers: CNN

CNN filed a lawsuit against the Trump’s administration, alleging it acted unconstitutionally by revoking the White House credentials of one of their reporters, and seeking a judge’s intervention after the administration suspended Jim Acosta’s credentials following a tense back-and-forth with the president during a press conference.

“The wrongful revocation of these credentials violates CNN and Acosta’s First Amendment rights of freedom of the press and their Fifth Amendment rights to due process,” CNN said in a statement announcing the legal action.

“While the suit is specific to CNN and Acosta, this could have happened to anyone,” the network said. “If left unchallenged, the actions of the White House would create a dangerous chilling effect for any journalist who covers our elected officials.”

The White House sought to justify its action by saying Acosta placed “his hands on” an intern who was trying to take his microphone from him during last week’s heated exchange with Trump. Spokeswoman Sarah Sanders then released what appears to be a doctored video to substantiate the claim. The video in question has come under mass scrutiny as it appears to be a sped-up version of original footage that was altered to make Acosta’s actions look more aggressive towards the White House intern as she yanks down on his microphone. Trump has regularly besmirched CNN as “fake news” and the “enemy of the people,” haranguing its reporters during press conferences and media availabilities over what he perceives to be the network’s unfavorable coverage of him. 4…………> In The Fire’s Grip: California

.

At least 44 people have been killed in two wildfires burning across the state of California, leaving behind trails of destruction and scorching the homes of thousands. In northern California, the death toll in the Camp Fire reached 42 after 13 human remains were recovered, said Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea at a news conference late Monday. “This the deadliest fire in the wildland fire history of the United States,” he said. The fire has over 6,400 structures in rubble and burning 110,000 acres of land. The Woolsey Fire in southern California added to the state’s death toll, killing two as it tore through the affluent neighborhoods of Malibu. The fire has burned more than 85,000 acres, and along with the nearby Hill Fire it has prompted the evacuation of reportedly 250,000 residents.
