Millions of residents across multiple Mexican states were left without power after the country experienced several failures on its power grid, according to the National Center for Energy Control (CENACE), following the last major power outages to occur in Mexico in April 2019, when a partial blackout left 1.6 million users without electricity in three Mexican states – including in the tourist-rich city of Cancún.

The nearly two-hour-long power outage began at 2:29 p.m. local time and saw some 10.3 millions users immediately lose their electricity, with power outages reported in Mexico City and multiple Mexican states such as Hidalgo, Jalisco, Sinaloa, Quintana Roo, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Michoacán, and CENACE reported via social media that the massive daytime blackout was caused by an “imbalance in the National Interconnected System between load and power generation.” Additionally, the operator noted that the network lost 7,500 megawatts of electricity.

CERACE was able to fully restore power to affected users by 4:12 p.m. local time.

.Swiss authorities began to suspect something unusual when their meals were left untouched, as half of the Britons who were ordered to wait out their quarantine in the ski resort of Verbier have gone into hiding, since hundreds of British guests were put in quarantine over the new, more infectious variant of the coronavirus have fled the Swiss ski resort of Verbier, with some reemerging in neighboring France.

Verbier, an alpine village located in the municipality of Bagnes in Canton Valais, is a popular ski destination for British tourists.

NSW Health has revealed there’s a ‘concerning’ number of mystery cases emerging outside the northern beaches cluster, as Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Dr. Kerry Chant said three cases came through overnight and early this morning that weren’t linked to the Avalon cluster, with one being in Wollongong, one in the Inner West, and another in the “northern area”.

Elsewhere, the state recorded three cases all linked to the Avalon cluster.

Given the missing links, Ms. Berejiklian and Dr. Chant urged Sydneysiders to come forward for testing.
