1…………> Sacramento Slave Driver: Forced Labor

The Justice Department today announced that Firdos Sheikh, 58, of Elk Grove, California, was indicted by a federal grand jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California on two counts of forced labor, two counts of alien harboring for financial gain, one count of obstructing a forced labor investigation, and one count of making false statements to federal agents. The announcement was made by Acting Assistant Attorney General John Gore of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.

According to the indictment, between October 2008 and June 2013, the defendant harbored and concealed two victims on her property and other locations and forced them to provide labor and services for her financial benefit. In July 2013, the defendant lied to federal agents and attempted to hide one of the victims from the agents in order to obstruct their investigation.

An indictment is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and mandatory restitution to the victims.

2…………> Musk Septic Tank: Smell Of Rats?

World’s greatest short seller Mr. Jim Chanos has claimed for a long time that Tesla is a fraud and kept a large short position for a long time waiting for Musk “house of cards” to collapse. A firing of a whistleblower may have initiated this long awaited process:

“Threatening me only makes it worse for you,” Mr. Musk replied to accusations by a former employee named Marty Tripp who in turn says that he is being smeared for speaking out about standards and safety at the company.

“Betraying your word of honor, breaking the deal you had when Tesla gave you a job and framing your colleagues are wrong and some come with legal penalties. So it goes. Be well,” Mr.Musk added.

Tesla described former employee Martin Tripp as a criminal, a man who hacked into Tesla’s systems in order to steal information and smear the company’s reputation on safety.

“Tripp retaliated against Tesla by stealing confidential and trade secret information and disclosing it to third parties, and by making false statements intended to harm the company,” the court documents alleged, adding that Mr. Tripp admitted some of the accusations when confronted.

‘Betraying your word of honor’

“You’re a horrible human being,” the head of Tesla Mr. Elon Musk wrote in a tense email exchange between himself and Mr. Tripp.

3…………> Zimbabwe Assassination Attempt: Live Video

Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa survived an explosion that occurred at a ruling ZANU-PF party demonstration.  The politician, who was immediately evacuated from the scene, has not been hurt.

“There has been an incident at Bulawayo (White City Stadium) where the president was addressing a rally. This is now a police issue but the president is safe at Bulawayo State House,” the presidential spokesman.

4…………> Migrant Camps: US Navy

In support of President Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy, the Navy plans to build “temporary and austere” tent cities to house some 25,000 migrants in Alabama; 47,000 people in San Francisco; and another 47,000 at a facility in southern California with an estimated cost of $450 million per year.

Pentagon spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Jamie Davis said that Department of Defense (DoD) “[is] conducting prudent planning and is looking nationwide at DoD installations should DHS (Department of Homeland Security) ask for assistance in housing adult illegal immigrants.”

5…………> “We Love Barbed Wire”: Austria MP

Austrian EU minister Gernot Blümel called for the creation of migrant reception centers outside of the EU, and Austrian Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Sache said the country is set to “protect its borders.”

The centers proposed by Austria’s EU minister Gernot Blümel would be used to determine whether individual migrants have a right to asylum in the EU, Blümel said during an interview on Saturday with German public radio, Deutschlandfunk.

The Austria EU Federal Minister @Gernot_Bluemel has spoken in favor of reception centers outside the EU. It should not be that “when you board a boat in North Africa, that automatically is the ticket to Europe”. The complete interview.
