The “mystery fever” in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh continues as hundreds of sick are admitted to hospitals, and the federal government has rushed an expert team to investigate the root cause of the spread of infections, since more than 400 people, including 40 children, have been hospitalized in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and more than 100 have died. The Indian daily ‘Times of India’ quoted sources saying that at least 5,000 people in the state’s Firozabad district are bedridden with a fever at home or in private hospitals.

AUCKLAND, New Zealand.  New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern confirmed that the violent attack that happened at New Lynn supermarket in Auckland at 2:40 p.m. local time last week was a “terrorist attack” carried out by an “extremist.” New Zealand Police Commissioner Andrew Coster confirmed that the terrorist was holding a knife to stab people at the scene. Local authorities said at least six people were injured, including three in critical conditions.

TUCSON, Ariz. – Last week, a Mexican citizen living in Tucson was sentenced to 46 months in prison for attempting to smuggle ammunition from the United States into Mexico following an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) with the assistance of Customs and Border Protection.

A fourth wave of the coronavirus infection has started in the United States as new strains are becoming more prominent, according to epidemiologist Dr. Michael Osterholm, who served as a member of US President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 transition advisory board:

“We seem to be in a cycle of regional activity and right now the upper Midwest is lighting up with the northeast, and it won’t be long before the rest of the country will be following behind,” Dr.  Osterholm  said this Sunday.

Asked whether the current spike in infections could be considered a “fourth wave,” Osterholm said he believed so.

It helps to think about the Universe like a balloon being blown up. As the stars and galaxies, like dots on a balloon’s surface, move apart from each other more quickly, the greater the distance is between them. From our perspective, what this means is the further away a galaxy is from us, the faster it is receding.

WASHINGTON – A New York man and Alabama woman, identified as James Bradley, 20, of the Bronx, New York, and Arwa Muthana, 29, of Hoover, Alabama,  were arrested at a seaport in Newark, New Jersey on criminal charges related to their alleged attempt to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

“As alleged, the defendants planned to travel overseas to join and support ISIS,” said Assistant Attorney General John C. Demers for the Justice Department’s National Security Division. 

“The threat of terrorism at home and abroad remains, and the National Security Division is committed to holding accountable those who would provide material support to foreign terrorist organizations.  I want to thank the agents, analysts, and prosecutors who are responsible for this case.”
