@60minutes “forgot” to report that we are helping the great farmers of the USA to the tune of 28 Billion Dollars, for the last two years, paid for out of Tariffs paid to the United States by China for targeting the farmer. They devalued their currency, therefore paying the cost!

Unemployment Rate just dropped to 3.5%, the lowest in more that 50 years. Is that an impeachable event for your President?

Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of “Meet the Press” had a total meltdown in his interview with highly reaspected Senator @RonJohnstonWI . Seems that a not very bright Chuck just wasn’t getting the answers he was looking for in order to make me look as bad as possible. I did NOTHING wrong!

2…………> Hong Kong Violence: A Long, Dark Night

One day after emergency powers banning protesters from wearing face masks were set in motion, a move energized a night of intense rioting, during which one teenage protester was shot and wounded by a police officer, with the Hong Kong’s subway network, which carries some 4 million people daily, remained out of action throughout Saturday, while major malls, Chinese banks and supermarket chains announced they were closing.

Hong Kong chief executive Carrie Lam has denounced the territory’s “very dark night” of “extreme violence”, saying the city’s Government “cannot allow rioters any more to destroy our treasured Hong Kong”.

As the day went on there were arrests and police mounted operations to clear masked protesters in several districts across the city, but the numbers involved were well down on the norm of the last four months.

“The radical behavior of rioters took Hong Kong through a very dark night, leaving society today half-paralyzed,” Ms. Lam said in a pre-recorded message.

3…………> Leave My Steak Alone: The Red Meat Fallacy

A new scientific paper collected data from 70 studies that analyzed the health records of six million people from 70 studies in 2018, after scientists and politicians campaigned against using nitrates and nitrites as preservatives in processed meats, because of evidence linking the compounds to cancer.

The authors challenged  most internationally accepted health guidelines that urge people to cut down the amount of red meat they consume, as samples was parsed and analyzed using more powerful statistical methods, that previously delivered uncertain evidence reducing red meat intake affects the likelihood of cancer over your lifetime, and often the evidence for health risks is very weak.

In fact, 80% of nitrates and nitrites in most European’s diets come from vegetables – and in some cases, nitrates have been associated with positive health outcomes, like lowering blood pressure.

4…………> Applied Global Warming: German Icebreaker Research

German Research Vessel Polarstern is to begin its year-long drift in Arctic sea-ice, with the ship, which will head the North Pole’s biggest scientific expedition, will settle next to a thick ice floe on the Siberian side of the ocean basin, the precise location being 85 degrees north and 137 degrees east.

Hundreds of investigators will use it as a base from which to probe the impacts of climate change at the top of the world.

“It may not be the perfect floe but it’s the best one in this part of the Arctic and offers better working conditions than we could have expected after a warm Arctic summer,” the research team leader said.

RV Polarstern set out on its MOSAiC (Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate) mission two weeks ago.

5…………> A Bronze Age New York: An Ancient City Found

The discovery of a large ancient settlement on the territory of contemporary Israel not only sheds some light on the urbanization process experienced by Canaan’s local population 5,000 years ago, but also completely changes our understanding of the period, researchers believe.

Israel’s Antiquities Authority (IAA) revealed on Sunday that local archaeologists have discovered the remains of a 5,000-year-old city, one of the biggest that has been found in the region from the Bronze Age so far,  and the city, which scientists believe could completely change the understanding of that period and even rewrite history, was discovered during preparations for a highway project near Israel’s newest city Harish, 50 kilometers north of Tel Aviv.

The authorities said that the early Bronze Age settlement could have been home to about 6,000 people, covering around 65 hectares and should really be viewed as “Early Bronze Age New York”.
