2………….> US Criminal Aliens Targeted: ICE

WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the results of recent enforcement actions targeting removable aliens who have been arrested for, or have pending charges or convictions, for crimes involving victims:

“The aliens targeted during this operation preyed on men, women and children in our communities, committing serious crimes and, at times, repeatedly hurting their victims,” said Senior Official Performing the Duties of the ICE Director Tony H. Pham.

“By focusing our efforts on perpetrators of crimes against people, we’re able to remove these threats from our communities and prevent future victimization from occurring. Through our targeted enforcement efforts, we are eliminating the threat posed by these criminals, many of whom are repeat offenders.”
Data captured from July 13 to Aug. 20 shows that ICE officers arrested more than 2,000 at-large individuals living illegally in the U.S., or who are removable from the U.S. due to their criminal histories. About 85 percent of those arrested by ICE on immigration charges also had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges. Many had multiple criminal convictions and pending charges for crimes committed against victims. (Note: these numbers represent criminal charges and convictions, not individuals. Individuals can have multiple criminal charges and convictions.) Those crimes, just to mention the large clusters, included:

388 convictions and 386 pending charges for assault – including simple assault, battery against family and non-family members and assault against law enforcement;
291 convictions and 216 pending charges for domestic violence;
83 convictions and 64 pending charges for sexual offenses – including rape, sexual assault, indecent exposure and failure to register as a sex offender, and many more.

3…………..> Operation Legend: Case of the Day

Department of Justice will highlight a case that has resulted from Operation Legend, a file case today is out of the Western District of Missouri, where the Department launched Operation Legend, in honor of four-year-old LeGend Taliferro who was shot while he slept in his home in Kansas City, Missouri. Since its inception, Operation Legend has yielded close to 1,500 federal, state, and local arrests:

United States vs. Michael D. Moore and Jamahl D. Jones, (two Kansas City men charged with illegal firearms, after armed robberies, armed standoff with police officers)

“Operation Legend is successfully taking armed, violent criminals like these off the street to make our neighborhoods safer,” U.S. Attorney Tim Garrison said.

“It is also important to note that these successes are only possible in great part to the collaborative partnership between federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in support of this initiative.”

Michael D. Moore, 30, and Jamahl D. Jones, 33, each were charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm in a two-count criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Mo. Both were arrested on Monday, Aug. 17, following a brief standoff and foot chase.

According to an affidavit filed in support of the criminal complaint, Moore was involved in two armed robberies that led to the issuance of the arrest warrant and surveillance.

4…………> Russia’s Su-57 Fighter Enter Star Wars: ‘Invisibility Cloak’
Russia’s mass produced Su-57 fighter jets are going to receive special protective cloaks to shield them from bad weather and enemy radar detection while they are on their airfields, with delivery set to begin next year, and the cloaks will be made of radar signal-reflecting polymers, with each plane receiving over a dozen separate, specially-fitted covers for its fuselage, wings, cockpit, stabilizers, air intakes, wheels and other components.
In addition to cloaking the plane, the coverings will protect the planes’ external electronics, including antennae, sensors, radar and optical and electronic systems from the elements.

Lt. Gen. Valery Gorbenko, former commander of the 4th Air Force and Air Defense Army said that the cloaks will deprive the potential adversary of information such as where the planes are based, how many there are, as well as where and from where they have been transferred.

1…………> Victory Parade: Moscow

A massive military parade was held in Moscow to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the Soviet victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) against Nazi Germany in the European theater of World War II; Russia showcased many of its advanced, recently-developed weapons and displayed the might of its armed forces to the world.

From the deadly Sukhoi Su-57 stealth air superiority fighter, fitted with state-of-the-art avionics, radars, and weaponry, to the Kinzhal hypersonic missile, that has a range of over 1200 miles flying at Mach 10, to the BMPT Terminator, a tracked armored fighting vehicle armed with four anti-tank missile launchers, two 30 mm autocannons, two grenade launchers, and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun, to the Uran-9, an unmanned combat vehicle designed for reconnaissance and proving fire support, the rapid transformation of the Red Army to a 21th-century fighting force was praised by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We will always be proud of the fact that the USSR did not bow down when other countries decided to surrender,” Mr.Putin said.

The president shook hands with Russian generals and greeted the WWII veterans attending the event.

4…………> You Don’t Own Me: Baldness Cure

University of Manchester researcher Dr. Nathan Hawkshaw has discovered that an osteoporosis drug, WAY-316606, targets hair follicles without any side effects, and external application of the compound to a balding human scalp “may promote hair growth to the same magnitude as CsA or even better”.

“The fact that this new agent, which had never been considered in a hair-loss context, promotes human hair growth is exciting because of its translational potential,” Dr. Hawkshaw said.

“It could one day make a real difference to people who suffer from hair loss.”
It had “a dramatic stimulatory effect on human hair follicles donated by patients,” the university said in a statement.

1…………> “Billy The Teacher”: Concealed Carry

….If a potential “sicko shooter” knows that a school has a large number of very weapons talented teachers (and others) who will be instantly shooting, the sicko will NEVER attack that school. Cowards won’t go there…problem solved. Must be offensive, defense alone won’t work!

2…………> Elder Fraud Sweep: Sheriff Sessions

“Lottery phone scams,” “Grandparent scams,” “Romance scams,” “IRS imposter schemes,” “Guardianship schemes scams” across the US and the world, that targeted elders were slammed by a coordinated attack of DOJ and its law enforcement partners, under the able direction of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, leading to criminal charges against  200 defendants.

“The Justice Department and its partners are taking unprecedented, coordinated action to protect elderly Americans from financial threats, both foreign and domestic,” said Attorney General Sessions. “Today’s actions send a clear message: we will hold perpetrators of elder fraud schemes accountable wherever they are. When criminals steal the hard-earned life savings of older Americans, we will respond with all the tools at the Department’s disposal – criminal prosecutions to punish offenders, civil injunctions to shut the schemes down, and asset forfeiture to take back ill-gotten gains. Today is only the beginning. I have directed Department prosecutors to coordinate with both domestic law enforcement partners and foreign counterparts to stop these criminals from exploiting our seniors.”

3……….> IS Plane Bomb Plot: Thwarted

“The Israeli intelligence services thwarted the downing of an Australian plane, an unimaginable slaughter. This would have caused major disruption in global air transport, and this is only one of the dozens of terrorist attacks we have foiled around the world,” PM Netanyahu said about the work of an Israeli military intelligence Unit 8200 that helped to prevent the downing of a passenger jet.

The information led to raids on several Sydney properties during which two Lebanese-Australian brothers, Khaled Khayat and Mahmoud Khayat, were charged with plotting to bring down the passenger jet by trying to smuggle an improvised explosive device in their luggage onto the July 15 flight.

4…………> Face The Needle: Su57

Fitted with a groundbreaking avionics system capable of autonomous calculations of the battlefield situation to assist the pilot, the new Su-57 5th generation fighter has also active phased array radar, allowing it to detect air, ground and naval targets at great distances, and strike the enemy with a variety of modern weapons, including short, medium and long-range air-to-air, air-to-ground, and special anti-radar missiles.

Russian and Syrian officials have yet to comment on unverified footage of the Russian fifth-generation stealth fighter jet Su-57 allegedly spotted in Syria’s sky.

5……….> Pirate’s Den: West Africa

Somali piracy was at its peak around 2010, with masked robbers boarding international merchant ships and demanding millions of dollars in ransom, and now 65 piracy kidnappings worldwide last year were off the Nigeria coast.

The spike in kidnappings is a recent trend due to a downturn in oil prices, but most pirates are criminals demanding a large ransom for their captives.
