After the Taliban admitted it carried out a recent attack in Kabul that killed a US soldier, President Trump cancelled a peace deal with the Jihadist group at his Camp David retreat.

US negotiator Zalmay Khalilzad announced a peace deal “in principle” with the Taliban, that the US would withdraw 5,400 troops from Afghanistan within 20 weeks, pending final approval by Mr. Trump.

 Nadler’s investigation has since expanded to include allegations that Trump has improperly mixed his business interests with his role as president, and paid money during the 2016 campaign to silence women claiming to have had affairs with him.

 The resolution would allow staff attorneys to question hearing witnesses, set procedures for closed-door reviews of grand jury material, allow White House counsel to respond in writing to the committee and usher in other changes.

A man identified as Tyler Ivanoff discovered a 50-year-old letter in a bottle on the shores of western Alaska, sent in 1969 by a member of the Russian Navy, handwritten in Russian earlier this month while gathering firewood near Shishmaref, about 600 miles north-west of Anchorage.

 “The note was dry,” he told the Nome Nugget news paper.

The message asked the person who found the bottle to send a reply to the crew of the ship “Sulak” in Vladivostok, signing off: “I wish you good health, long life and happy sailing.”

“I was just looking for firewood when I found the bottle, and when I found the bottle, I had to use a screwdriver to get the message out. It was still dry on the inside and still smelled like wine or whatever, old alcohol. June 20, 1969,” Mr.Ivanoff said.

Reporters from the state-owned Russian media network, Russia-1, tracked down the original writer, Captain Anatolii Prokofievich Botsanenko.

Facebook is currently recovering from the 2018 Cambridge Analytica scandal, which involved the political consultancy firm harvesting the personal data of millions of the social media giant’s users without their consent, US social media giant Facebook said in a press release that it has removed five China-based accounts and other pages that had allegedly engaged in deceptive tactics focused on Hong Kong.

“Today, we removed seven Pages, three Groups and five Facebook accounts involved in coordinated inauthentic behavior as part of a small network that originated in China and focused on Hong Kong. The individuals behind this campaign engaged in a number of deceptive tactics, including the use of fake accounts. They frequently posted about local political news and issues including topics like the ongoing protests in Hong Kong,” the company said.
