Radioactive Saharan dust has been passing over France since February, a grim remainder of the historic nuclear tests carried out in the Algerian desert are now coming back to haunt Europe, causing a pollution spike over parts of Southern Europe, based on samples collected by scientists assigned to study the case.

While the current levels of radiation are not considered dangerous, France conducted several nuclear tests in Algeria, a French colony at the time, which led to the Sahara becoming contaminated with radiation.

“We have obtained intelligence that shows a possible plot to breach the Capitol by an identified militia group on Thursday, March 4,” Capitol police statement said.

A medical director, operator and two unlicensed practitioners, identified as Farrah Forough Farizani, D.O., 57, Hamid Reza Razavi, 60, Elie Hanna Hajjar, 48, and Juan Acuña, 64, all of Houston and from the same Texas medical clinic, made their appearances before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christina Bryan, and are now in custody on charges related to their alleged participation in a $32 million health care fraud scheme.

The indictment, unsealed today, charges all four with one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud. Farizani, Razavi and Hajjar are also charged with five counts of making false statements relating to health care matters.

In a tweet, he described it as a “consistent and correct decision.”
