Twenty people have died, and more than two million others spent a night huddled in storm shelters, as Cyclone Bulbul smashed into the coasts of India and Bangladesh with fierce gales and torrential rains, that ripped trees were ripped from the ground, blocking roads and hampering access in many areas.
One million people across Bangladesh were relocated to cyclone shelters, as the cyclone brought winds of up to 80 miles per hour when it hit, forcing the closure of ports and airports in both countries.
In coastal Khulna, the worst-hit district in Bangladesh, trees swayed violently and were ripped from the ground in the fierce storm, blocking roads and hampering access to the area.
Five of the eight victims in Bangladesh were killed by falling trees, including a 52-year-old woman who had spent the night in a shelter.
About 30 people were injured and 6,000 homes partially or fully damaged, Bangladeshi authorities said. (ABC.AU)

Deriance Ra’Shaiel Hughes, a 29-year-old Columbia, Tennessee Popeye’s employee, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after he chased down and body slammed a 55-year-old woman, who reportedly used several racial epithets and may have struck another individual.
Rocky McElhaney, woman’s attorney, the entire incident started after she noticed being charged twice for her order of chicken tenders, leaving the 55-year-old been hospitalized with six broken ribs, a broken leg and a several elbow fractures after being body slammed by a fast food employee who said she used racial slurs and hit his sister.
“Put your hands on my sister again!” the 29-year-old is overheard saying, possibly referencing a moment in which the woman allegedly struck his sibling while in the restaurant.
