1…………> “Alien Sanctuary” NY: Cuddling Criminals
ICE prepared more than 440 detainers against aliens booked by NYPD or NYDOC. Nearly 40 individuals who were released from custody, reoffended and were again arrested for crimes by local law enforcement officers, for “minor” crimes like Criminal Contempt, Assault-3rd, Disorderly Conduct, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle-Felony Grand Larceny, Robbery, Criminal Contempt,  Assault and Disorderly Conduct, Fraud, Robbery and finally Homicide.

“In just three months, more than three dozen criminal aliens were released from local custody. Simply put, the politics and rhetoric in this city are putting its own communities at an unnecessary risk,” said Scott Mechowski, acting field office director for the ERO New York. “ICE has no choice but to continue to conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites, wasting valuable resources on criminal aliens who could be securely turned over to ICE custody at jails and prisons.  However, ICE remains committed to its public safety mission and will continue to enforce our nation’s immigration laws.”

2…………> Up Against The Flow: Tariff Wars
After forty years of exporting US capital, know-how and technology to our “Chinese partners”, the administration of President Trump is trying to reverse the treachery of the Council of Foreign Relations(CFR) that turned a third world communist country into world’s 2nd superpower, and left thousands of American cities into drug-infested shanty towns, by using tariffs to reduce current account balance.

Mr.Xi and his lieutenants were clearly not amused:

“The achievements reached by China and the United States should be based on the premise that the two sides should meet each other halfway and not fight a trade war,” said the Chinese statement, carried by the official Xinhua News Agency.

“If the United States introduces trade sanctions including raising tariffs, all the economic and trade achievements negotiated by the two parties will be void.”

3…………> Google AI Project: Out Of DOD
“Cousin” Google “Artificial Intelligence Project” code-named “Maven” was using machine learning and engineering know-how to be able to distinguish people and objects in drone videos, an undertaking that led to 4,000 Google employees to sign an open letter saying that by its involvement in the project the Internet giant was putting users’ trust at risk, as well as ignoring its “moral and ethical responsibility”.

Company associates feared it was the first step towards using artificial intelligence for lethal purposes, and a top executive Diane Greene told the staff there would be no follow-up after the current contract expired next March.

4…………> Superman History: A Pure Chance
Superman’s “Action Comics No. 1“ sailed into immortality in June 1938,  featuring  very the first appearance of the superhero genre, destined to become one of the world’s most coveted pop culture collector’s items, when in 2014, one of the first copies containing the debut adventure of original superhero Superman, which cost 10 cents in 1938, sold for $3.2 million (2.4 million euros) through an auction on eBay.
The Superman character was initially created in 1933 by Jerry Siegel in a short story titled The Reign of the Superman, illustrated by his friend Joe Shuster, a self-published work in a science fiction magazine, later discovered by DC Comics. Comic book publisher Jack Liebowitz said that the decision to pick up the Superman figure was “pure accident” as he selected the cover image, which depicts the super-strong figure with a red cape lifting a car over his head.

Creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster were paid $10 per page — a total of $130 for their work on the issue.

5…………> Air Force Honor Guard: Memorial Day
“On Memorial Day,” President Donald J. Trump said in his 2018 proclamation, “we pause in solemn gratitude to pay tribute to the brave patriots who laid down their lives defending peace and freedom while in service to our great nation.”

Paying tribute and honoring fallen service members is what the 11th Operations Group is all about. That’s why they were in high demand over Memorial Day weekend.

More than 80 U.S. Air Force Honor Guard parade element members traveled west; about half went to Illinois for the 2018 Chicago Memorial Day Parade on May 26, while the other half went to Indiana for the Indianapolis Power and Light 500 Festival Parade, also on May 26, and then continued to Pittsburgh for the Lawrenceville Memorial Day parade May 27.

“Every time we do a parade, and I hear the support of the crowd, it always reinvigorates me and reminds me of why we do this,” said Senior Airman Amanda Skidmore, U.S. Air Force honor guardsman.

Meanwhile, the honor guard’s drill team, along with Air Force Band’s rock band “Max Impact,” traveled to Miami for the two-day National Salute to America’s Heroes Air and Sea Show.
