3…………> South America’s Easter Island: Columbia

South America’s largest treasure of religious monuments and megalithic sculptures isn’t on Easter Island, but it’s Tierradentro’s 162 underground tombs carved into solid volcanic bedrock, and the more than 500 monolithic stone statues and tumuli (ancient burial mounds) surrounding the nearby town of San Agustín, sprinkled throughout 1200 sq miles of the serried mountains and highland plateaus of the Upper Magdalena Valley in southern Colombia.

Spanish conquistador Sebastián de Belalcázar marched up the valley in the late 1530s after conquering the lands of the Inca, but the statues and tombs remained undiscovered until 1757, when Friar Juan de Santa Gertrudis stumbled upon the vast lithic library and called it “the work of the devil” as “The [natives] did not have iron or implements to produce such a thing.”

4…………> Raising Anti-Semitism: EU Report

The German mass daily Bild reported Friday that behind the EU ministers’ declaration was “a large EU survey among 16,395 Jews in the whole of Europe,” with 89 % of those respondents felt that anti-Semitism in Europe had increased sharply since 2013, and 28 percent had suffered anti-Jewish abuse, some of it violent.

Thirty-eight percent were considering whether to emigrate because of the strong trend, and 85 % said anti-Semitism was the biggest problem in their country. The EU has 508 million residents. Jews in Europe amount to about one million or 0.2 percent of the EU population, according to the US-based Jewish Visual Library.

2…………> Islamic Sheikdom Of France: Fire & Fury

3…………> Opposite Attract: Kushner & Bin Salman

“Bin Salman’s] initial approaches to the Palestinians were rejected by their leaders, and their resistance stiffened after the Trump administration recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital without waiting for a negotiated agreement on the city’s status. By the time of the inauguration Mr. Kushner was already arguing that under the influence of Prince Mohammed, Saudi Arabia could play a pivotal role in advancing a Middle East peace deal,” according to Time magazine.

“The relationship between Jared Kushner and Mohammed bin Salman constitutes the foundation of the [Donald] Trump policy not just toward Saudi Arabia, but toward the region,” CFR’s Martin Indyk suggested as the reason why the U.S. has become so close to Saudi Arabia.

After the White House had imposed restrictions on conversations that to Trump’s adviser and son-in-law, they were continuing their discussions, even in the aftermath of the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, reaching a point where they were on a first-name basis with one another.

4…………> Trump, Stay Away From France: Minister

“The Paris Agreement isn’t working out so well for Paris. Protests and riots all over France. People do not want to pay large sums of money, much to third world countries (that are questionably run), in order to maybe protect the environment,” President Trump remark regarding the mayhem in the Islamic Sheikdom of France drew the fury of Foreign Minister, Ayatollah Jean-Yves Le Drian who told him to mind his own business.

“I am telling Donald Trump … We don’t take part in the American debates, let us live our life of a nation. France doesn’t interfere in U.S. domestic politics, and Washington should do the same”, Ayatollah Drian told France 24.

According to a recent survey, 84% of the righteous believers — mostly from the middle-income group — support the protests against 20 % rise of fuel prices this year.

2…………> Cyber Criminal Busted: Seattle

A former Information Technology professional identified as Joel Kurzynski, 39, of Seattle, Washington was sentenced to 30 months in prison and three years supervised release for conducting cyberstalking and threat campaigns against multiple Washington residents.

According to admissions made in connection with his plea, Kurzynski engaged in an extensive and rapidly escalating cyberstalking campaign that targeted two individuals known to him. The online campaign involved — among other things — death threats, body shaming, and hate speech. Beginning in March 2017, Kurzynski orchestrated numerous spam phone calls to Victim 1.

The conduct soon escalated to fake dating profiles wherein Kurzynski portrayed Victim 1 as seeking sadomasochistic or underage relationships. These profiles contained photographs of Victim 1 and his contact information, resulting in solicitations and harassing messages directed toward Victim 1 from multiple strangers. Kurzynski then sent several anonymous death threats to Victim 1, including the threat, “faggot. Time to die.” At one point, Kurzynski impersonated a journalist and contacted Victim 1, claiming that an upcoming article would levy sexual misconduct allegations against Victim 1 related to Victim 1’s work with a non-profit youth organization.

3…………> Bureaucracy vs. Global Warming: A Road With No End?

At a UN conference in Poland, the topic of discussion is a report by leading climate scientists about the world heading towards 3C of warming this century or 1.5C. With the impacts of climate change already being felt in severe weather events like floods and wildfires, why is it taking so long to take action?

4…………> Yellow Vest Revolt Spreading: Brussels

Walking behind a banner proclaiming, “Social Winter Is Coming,” the protesters chanted “(French President Emmanuel) Macron, Michel, resign!” as nearly 450 people have been temporarily detained in Brussels after police forces clashed with around 1,000 “yellow vest” protesters who turned violent.

Six people have been arrested, according to the federal prosecutor’s office. Earlier in the afternoon, Belgian police confronted hordes of yellow-vested protesters who were calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Charles Michel and attempting to enter the European quarter of Brussels. Police used pepper spray on a small group of men who threw street signs, bottles and other objects as they tried to break through a barricade near the European Parliament.
