The global death toll from the coronavirus infection is over 897,000, with 27.5 million cases of the infection detected, and over 18.5 million of those patients have recovered, as the United States still has the highest case count in the world, with 6,327,009, of whom 189,653 have died and 2,359,111 have recovered, India ranking second, recording 4,280,128 COVID-19 cases since the onset of the pandemic, while Brazil, which now ranks third, has confirmed over 4.162 million cases.
AstraZeneca voluntarily paused its vaccine clinical trials globally to investigate an unexplained illness in a UK participant, noting that it was a routine action:
“Safety is the primary focus for vaccine clinical trials. When a potentially unexplained illness occurs in a trial participant, which may or may not be related to the vaccine being evaluated, it is rigorous, routine practice to investigate. Temporary suspensions of vaccine clinical trials are not unusual while an evaluation takes place,” an email said.
The AstraZeneca vaccine is being developed in partnership with the Oxford University’s Jenner Institute and the Oxford Vaccine Group and is in its phase 3 trials, which is the final stage before safety and efficacy data can be submitted to health regulators for approval.

At least five asteroids measuring between 30 feet and over 210 feet in diameter are about to visit our planet this week, and one rock, code-named 2020 RJ, with is estimated to reach nearly 130 feet in diameter, will pass the Earth shortly. Another stone, called 2020 RW will fly nearby on 10 September, closely followed by his cousin 2020 RM, which will approach our planet as close as few million miles.
An even bigger intruder is then expected on Saturday, 2020 RM15, the rock which is estimated to be able to reach 225 meters in size, while travelling nearly 30 miles/second. As a final straw, the Earth will then be closely approached by 2017 US.

Claiming success in the secretive launch of an experimental spacecraft, while mounted on a Long March 2F rocket, and launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in northern China on 4 September, then safely returned to Earth after two days in orbit, attracted a lot of attention by nosy people around the world:
“The successful flight marked the country’s important breakthrough in reusable spacecraft research and is expected to offer convenient and low-cost round-trip transport for the peaceful use of space,” state-run Xinhua News Agency said in a brief report.
But unlike recent Chinese high-profile space missions, very few details have emerged about the vehicle, and no visuals have been released, with authorities have been tight-lipped about the nature of the short-duration excursion and what technologies were tested, the exact launch and landing times were not revealed, nor was the landing site although it is thought to be the Taklamakan Desert, which is in northwest China.
“There are many firsts in this launch. The spacecraft is new, the launch method is also different. That’s why we need to make sure there is extra security,” a military source said. Could it be the first International Space station fueled by egg-foo-young noodles?
