Deliveries are expected to start by the end of this year for the European Union purchase of up to 300 million doses of the BioNTech-Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, after it showed strong results in trials, yet EU officials refused to provide details on how the vaccine would be rolled out, insisting that “a number of steps” needed to be followed beforehand, with early data suggesting the vaccine protects more than 90% of people from developing Covid-19 symptoms.

Its developers Pfizer and BioNTech, said it had been tested on 43,500 people with no safety concerns raised, and the companies plan to apply for emergency approval to use it by the end of November – and a limited number of people may get the vaccine this year.

European Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides described the EU vaccine deal as “extremely important”:

“The agreement means we are a step closer to what we set out to do – to have a broad and solid vaccine portfolio,” she said, adding that it would only be distributed once it is “proven to be safe”.

But Ms. Kyriakides refused to detail a specific timeline for when the vaccine would be delivered to member states.

“It has to receive authorization from the European Medicines Agency,” she said. “A number of steps need to be followed before we will actually be able to have a timeline.”

A Texas man identified as Thomas Alan Arthur, 64, of Terlingua, was convicted after a three-day trial of three counts of trafficking in obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of a child, five counts of trafficking in obscene text stories about the sexual abuse of children, and one count of engaging in the business of selling obscene matters involving the sexual abuse of children.

According to trial evidence, Arthur began operating the Mr. Double website in 1996, and began charging members for access to the site in 1998, with the website was dedicated to publishing writings that detail the sexual abuse of children, including the rape, torture, and murder of infants and toddlers. The evidence at trial showed that all submissions for publication were reviewed and approved by Arthur before he posted them on the site.

Fortunately nobody was killed in the incident, although one person was rushed to hospital with injuries when a police officer who is under investigation in the US after his vehicle ploughed into a group of people, running over at least one, in Tacoma, Washington, with a video showing a large group of people surrounding the police car as it revs its engine in an apparent effort to drive off, the group refuses to move, and police say people started hitting the car.

The police officer then speeds through the group, hitting numerous people, and one person is dragged under the car.
