US troops have come under fire from Turkish positions as air and artillery strikes on Kurdish militia continued in an offensive that has drawn warnings of a humanitarian catastrophe, after Trump administration warned of “serious consequences” for offensive Turkey vows to continue until all Kurdish militia forces are “neutralized.”
