2………….> Stolen Italian monastery 19th Century Painting: Recovered By ICE
.
DALLAS – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Dallas, Texas, recovered a 19th century painting called “the Assumption of the Virgin Mary”, created by Italian artist Giuseppe Pappini in August 1851, and stolen from the Abbey of Santa Maria in Sylvis in Sesto al Reghena, Italy, in May 2002.

HSI Dallas was able to locate the painting after receiving a tip from the HSI Attaché Office in Rome, Italy, in 2019, HSI tracked the painting to a private art collector in the Dallas-area who had purchased the painting in 2015 from a dealer who was unaware that it was stolen, and then the private collector voluntarily agreed to hand it over to HSI so that it could be repatriated to Italy and returned to the monastery:

“Investigating the loss or looting of cultural heritage properties and returning them to their countries of origin is an important part of HSI’s diverse mission” said Ryan L. Spradlin, special agent in charge of HSI Dallas.

“Our specially trained investigators and attachés in more than 40 countries not only partner with governments, agencies and experts who share our mission to protect these items, but they train the investigators of other nations and agencies on how to find, authenticate and enforce the law to recover these items when they emerge in the marketplace.”

3…………..> Drug Firms GSK & Sanofi Covid-19 Vaccine Trials: In Progress

.

Drug companies GSK and Sanofi have started clinical trials of their coronavirus vaccine, by involving 440 adults onto whom would administer the vaccine at 11 sites in the US, with results

results of the trial expected by December, and if successful, will spread into on to further trials by the end of the year.

They join around 20 pharmaceutical companies holding clinical trials in the race to find a vaccine, and UK’s GSK and France’s Sanofi uses the same protein-based technology as one of Sanofi’s seasonal influenza vaccines.

“The initiation of our clinical study is an important step and brings us closer to a potential vaccine which could help defeat Covid-19”, said Thomas Triomphe, executive vice president and global head of Sanofi Pasteur.

“Our dedicated teams and partner continue to work around the clock as we aim to deliver first results in early December. Positive data will enable a prompt start of the pivotal phase 3 trial by the end of this year”.

4…………> NZ Livestock Ship & Crew Missing Off Japan Coast: Typhoon Maysak

.

Japan’s coastguard has rescued one person as it searched for a vessel with nearly 6,000 livestock and 43 crew members on board, a ship identified as Gulf Livestock 1 who had sent a distress call from the west of Amami Oshima island in southwestern Japan following strong winds and rains, after the survivor said the ship sank following Typhoon Maysak wreaking havoc in the region.

One Filipino crew member has since been rescued, after Japanese navy P-3C surveillance aircraft found him wearing a life vest and waving, and the survivor told rescuers that an engine stopped, causing the vessel to stall. The boat then capsized after being hit by a powerful broadside wave and sank, hence to save his life, he quickly put on a life jacket and jumped into the sea, currently hospitalized, but in good health, Japan’s coast guard said.

The Gulf Livestock 1 left Napier on New Zealand’s north island on August 14 with 5,867 cattle, heading for the Port of Jingtang in Tangshan, China. The trip was supposed to last for around 17 days, New Zealand’s Foreign Ministry told Reuters news agency.

5…………> Dow Jones Down 807, Watch 28,000 Level Support

.
In their biggest plunge since June, US stocks sank in a huge selloffs driven by tech giant losses, suffering some of their biggest single-day losses in months, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing at 28,292.73, an 807.77-point loss, and the S&P 500 suffered a 125.78-point loss to close at 3,455.06. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite lost 598.34 points, closing at 11,458.10.

Big losses by tech giants helped drive the stock sell-offs, as Facebook lost more than 4% of its share value, Apple and Microsoft lost nearly 7% each and Amazon and Netflix more than 5% each.
“Someone hit the ‘sell tech, buy dreck’ button and this is creating a bid beneath beleaguered groups, while [tech] gets pummeled,” Adam Crisafulli of Vital Knowledge told CNBC.

“For tech specifically, the stocks are seeing large percent declines, but this comes after a massive recent rally. Tech has been untethered from fundamentals for a while and momentum can work in both directions.”

I have made the decision to seek re-election to another term as your Senator from Oklahoma. Here’s why:
Right now, our nation is at a crossroads. Three years into President Trump’s first term, we have reversed much of the devastation that eight years of Obama brought us.

2…………> ICE Boston arrests Zimbabwean national indicted for rape

Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested a Zimbabwean national, who is facing a felony rape charge, in Boston on Wednesday.
Alois Mutare, 42, a citizen of Zimbabwe, was arrested during routine enforcement actions targeting at-large criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and other immigration violators in New England
Mutare, who legally entered the U.S. in 1999, significantly violated the terms of his admission and overstayed his temporary visitor status by nearly 20 years and is subject to removal proceedings. He was arrested on felony rape charges by Boston police in ecember 2019 and indicted earlier this month on those charges. He was arrested by ICE following his release from local criminal court March 4. He will remain in ICE custody pending immigration proceedings before a federal immigration judge.
Mutare was just one of 209 arrests made by ICE officers in recent weeks, including 178 of which were arrests of individuals with convictions or pending criminal charges during the recent enforcement efforts.
“These arrests are just one more indicator of the threat that sanctuary policies pose to our communities,” said Todd M. Lyons, acting field office director for ERO Boston. “Our officers will continue to arrest public safety threats that are released back to the communities, even as we remain committed to working with our local law enforcement partners to keep communities in the region safe.”

3…………> Leader of Armed Home Invasion Robbery Crew: Busted By DOJ

A federal jury in Detroit, Michigan, found a Colombian man guilty of all charges in a nine-count indictment charging him with Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) conspiracy and other violent crimes, announced Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice department’s Criminal division and Special Agent in Charge Steven M. ’Antuono of the FBI’s etroit Field Office.
Juan Olaya, 39, of Buenaventura, Colombia, was a leader of an armed robbery crew that traveled the United States committing armed home invasions. Evidence at trial established that the defendant and his crew exclusively targeted families of Indian and Asian descent for their crimes.
Following a two-week trial, Olaya was convicted of one count of RICO conspiracy, four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering and four counts of use of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. Sentencing is scheduled for July 23, 2020, before U.S. district Court Judge Laurie J. Michelson of the Eastern district of Michigan, who presided over the trial.
Olaya and his robbery crew committed a string of home invasions in Georgia, New York, Michigan and Texas in 2014. The organizer of the crew, Chaka Castro, ran the enterprise from 2011 through 2014. Castro generated lists of robbery targets in various states around the county, specifically families of Asian and Indian ancestry, and assigned crews to carry out the armed robberies of these families within their homes. Olaya was the road boss of one such crew, who recruited other members and assigned roles to those members. Olaya and crew members traveled to certain locations, conducted surveillance and executed the robberies.

1…………> Economy Heating Up: Trump

Strong consumer spending drove business investment and exports gains as firms rushed to beat new trade tariffs, as the US economy grew at its fastest pace in nearly four years in the second quarter, expanding at an annualized rate of 4.1%, official figures show.

President Trump called the acceleration as “amazing,” claiming it as proof his policies are working, but many analysts cautioned that growth could cool in coming months.

“In one line: Looks great; won’t last,” wrote the chief economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics about the Commerce Department report on consumer spending that rose sharply in the second quarter, up from the 0.5% rate seen in the previous three months, as exports grew by more than 9%, the fastest rate since the fourth quarter of 2013.

2…………> Backstabber In Chief: Cohen

President Trump’s former lawyer has said his client knew in advance of a  meeting between his aides and a Russian delegation that offered to help his campaign and is reportedly willing to state this to the special counsel investigation into alleged Russian election meddling.

Mr. Trump again denied that he knew about the meeting.

3…………> Steel Is Back: Trump

The White House • July 27, 2018

President Donald J. Trump announced second-quarter GDP growth of 4.1 percent—putting America on track to hit its highest annual average growth rate in more than a decade.
back
“Hiding in plain sight in a suburb of St. Louis is one of the great success stories of President Donald J. Trump’s tough trade policies,” National Trade Council Director Peter Navarro says. “This is the rebirth of the Granite City steelworks, idled in 2015 — along with about 2,000 steelworkers — under a drowning flood of subsidized imports.”
President Trump visited Granite City yesterday, where U.S. Steel is restarting its blast furnaces and putting hundreds of Americans back to work. “Our steel towns became ghost towns. More than 70,000 hardworking Americans lost their jobs, their hope, and their way of life,” President Trump told workers in Illinois. “After years of shutdowns and cutbacks, today the blast furnace here in Granite City is blazing bright.”
It’s never been a better time to enter the American workforce. For the first time on record, “there are more job openings in the economy today than people are looking for jobs,” Labor Secretary Alex Acosta told students during a visit with President Trump to Northeast Iowa Community College. That statistic is crucial for Americans on welfare, as work programs offer the surest pathway out of poverty.
Watch: President Trump’s tariffs bring hope, prosperity back to Granite City.
More: Work is the best way to escape poverty—and the numbers prove it.

Something to share: ‘Made in America’ from all 50 states
President Trump hosted his second “Made in America” showcase at the White House this week. Companies large and small joined the celebration on the South Lawn—“products made with American heart, American sweat, and American pride,” the President said.
See what great product represented your home state.

We need to hear the stories of persecution
“Nations that reject religious freedom breed radicalism and resentment in their citizens,” Vice President Mike Pence said at the first-ever Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom yesterday in Washington, D.C. “They sow the seeds of violence within their borders—violence that often spills over into their neighbors and across the world.”
To advance the cause of religious freedom, America needs partners the world over. So this week, the State Department brought together religious leaders, survivors of religious persecution, and delegations from foreign governments for this inaugural ministerial.
“We need to hear the stories of those persecuted, tortured, falsely imprisoned, and killed for their faith,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says. “We can honor their sacrifices by preventing these atrocities from happening again.”

Watch the President’s announcement here.

Watch: “We will not rest … until ISIS is driven from the face of the earth.”

4…………> Trump’s Star: Antifa Brawl

When a MAGA crew, arrived at Trump’s Hollywood star to “spread the love” and sing a round or two of the US national anthem,  granting bystanders the chance to take photos with a cardboard version of 45, a massive fight broke out along California’s Hollywood Walk of Fame late Thursday after a group of supporters of President Trump was attacked after one man joined in, taking his shirt off and encouraging a growing crowd to chant, “F**k Donald Trump.”

Trump’s star was damaged earlier this week on Wednesday by 24-year-old Austin Clay, who told tabloid TMZ that the Trump administration’s decision to separate families entering from the US-Mexico border motivated him to commit the act.

5…………> 2nd Golden Decade: Mr.Xi

JOHANNESBURG, July 26 (Xinhua)

The leaders of the emerging-market bloc of BRICS, which stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, issued the 10th BRICS Summit Johannesburg Declaration to make all efforts to strengthen the multilateral trading system.

“We reaffirm the centrality of the rules-based, transparent, non-discriminatory, open and inclusive multilateral trading system, as embodied in the World Trade Organization (WTO),” it said.
