US stocks ended up for a third straight week, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 indexes hitting record highs on Friday, despite volatility triggered by comments about the Federal Reserve’s impending stimulus taper and rate hike.
The Dow, which groups mostly industrial stocks, eked out a gain in Friday’s trade despite tumbling from the day’s peaks.
The S&P 500, which consists of the top 500 US stocks, closed in the negative after also posting a record high too.
The Nasdaq Composite Index, which lists the marquee names in Big Tech, also fell, after an all-time high in the previous session.

Stings by dozens or hundreds of bees at the same time can cause a major toxic reaction in humans that, in some cases, can lead to death. In addition, a single bee sting can be fatal for those susceptible to certain allergic diseases.
One person has died and five were injured after they stirred up a large beehive in Marana, Arizona, the Northwest Fire District in Tucson announced on Friday.
According to local fire officials, a sizable swarm of bees came from a “large open hive, estimated [at] around 100 pounds” located in a nearby tree. The bees were said to have stung three people “hundreds of times” along with three firefighters, who were dispatched to the scene.

The US Secret Service arrested an individual who jumped over a temporary fence near the White House, Fox News reported on Friday. The incident took place around 11:27 am on the south side of Lafayette Park.
A tweeted video shows a young man in a pink t-shirt running between rows of metallic barriers. He successfully avoided two two agents and jumped over the barrier, continuing the race inside the park.
