Lily Wilder spotted a well preserved dinosaur footprint at Bendricks Bay, Barry, in the Vale of Glamorgan – and scientists believe it could help establish how they walked, as the footprint, spotted in January, is 220 million years old and had been preserved in mud, hence since the print is 10cm long, it is likely from a 75cm tall dinosaur.

COVID-19 victims with high levels of lung inflammation who received steroids, anti-inflammatory medicines used to treat a range of conditions, were 75% less likely to require ventilator support to maintain oxygen levels in their body, according to a research study by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Montefiore Health System, involving 1,806 hospitalized pandemic patients, with 140 patients being treated with steroids within 48 hours of admission. Most of the patients treated with steroids received prednisone, but some received dexamethasone and methylprednisolone.
“Our findings suggest that steroid therapy should be reserved for people with high inflammation, as indicated by markedly elevated CRP levels,” said Dr. William Southern, who was also involved in the study. “It’s a different story for people who do not have significant inflammation: for them, any benefit is outweighed by the risks from using steroids,” he added.
