It has been confirmed that the death toll from the virus in Italy has increased from 366 to 463, with the total number of coronavirus cases in Italy has hitting 9,172, rising from the 7,375 recorded on the previous day,making “el nostro paese” the worst-affected country after China, where the virus originated.
The country has introduced a range of sweeping measure to contain the outbreak, with up to 16 million people quarantined in the north, on orders by Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte who said the corona-virus outbreak was the country’s darkest hour.
The virus has begun to tell on that most confined space of all, prison. In Italy, riots were reported at 27 jails and six people died at a penitentiary in Modena after inmates were told friends and family would not be allowed to visit. Meanwhile, Iran released 70,000 prisoners in its bid to try to tackle the virus.
Amid global concerns over corona-virus and falling oil prices, the financial market took a big hit. Shares in London plummeted with the FTSE plunging 8% to its lowest level in three years. In New York, trading was halted for 15 minutes after stocks fell.

Joe Biden’s never-ending flow of verbal goof-ups is taking increasingly disturbing forms, and attracting more and more attention to his cognitive abilities, when speaking at a Kansas City rally on Saturday, a visibly confused Biden said: “We cannot get re-elect – we cannot win this re-election – excuse me – we can only re-elect Donald Trump.”
Biden also referred to himself as a “life-long Democrat, a proud Democrat, an Obiden Bama Democrat,”, another “silver edition” remark when he claimed that 150 million people had been killed by gun violence since 2007, but his campaign came to the rescue, clarifying that he meant to say 150 thousand.
In yet another blundering remark he called himself “a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate”, telling the audience to “vote for the other Biden” if they did not like what they saw.
Biden’s problem with gaffes has been a recurring issue; he has blamed it on a stutter which he claims he has struggled with since childhood.
However, with the presidential race picking up momentum, many observers, including journalists and supporters of his rivals, have interpreted these remarks as a sign of declining cognitive ability due to his age, (Biden turned 78 in November).

The top secret US Navy AI project, code-named‘CLAWS’,designed to “increase mission areas into kinetic effects,” i.e. independently “military-speak for destroying things,” and to make use of complex sensors and advanced algorithms to carry the missions out, with the system to be installed aboard the Orca, a new US attack drone being developed by Boeing and based on the aerospace giant’s Echo Ranger and Echo Voyager designs.
The unmanned vessel class is expected to be equipped with an array of weapons, including torpedoes to enable the subs to take on enemy surface and submarine forces,CLAWS’ existence was first revealed in 2018, with the program racking up a 9 million two year budget, and expected to be deployed aboard the Navy’s autonomous subs on an experimental basis by 2022.
The Orca program is one of several autonomous naval systems that the US Navy has in the works. Others include a defense Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA) program known as Sea Hunter – an autonomous anti-submarine warfare system, and the Large Unmanned Surface Vessels (LUSV) program. The latter consists of a modular, 90 meter-long, 2,000 tonne vessel initially expected to test the capability of drone ships to perform mundane tasks, such as scouting or supply.
