A whistleblower’s complaint alleging that records of a call made by President Donald Trump was handled in an unusually secretive way, as the US intelligence official believed that the transcript of the call between Mr. Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky was kept in a secret electronic space not for national-security reasons – but for political purposes, which of course is a lie.

The rough transcript of the call, according to the complaint, was first classified as secret and later top-secret, ensuring that only those with the highest clearances would be able to read it.

Alleging that this was a red flag, the whistleblower suggested that White House officials were not only aware of the politically sensitive nature of the call but were trying to hide this information from others in the US government.

Comrade AOC led US House communists voted to overturn President Trump’s national emergency declaration to fund the construction of a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, with the resolution passing in a 236 to 174 vote, short of the two-thirds majority required to nullify a presidential veto, as Mr. Trump is almost certain to veto it.

 The Senate also passed the resolution, but with 54 votes in support and 41 against, as only 11 Senate Republicans and 11 House “Rhinos” Republicans voted in support of blocking the national emergency.

If Trump, who already vetoed a congressional resolution blocking the national emergency in March, vetoes the measure again, it will be the sixth time he rejects congressional legislation so far during his presidency.

“[This] storm is the perfect example of waves generated by the easterly passage of a deep low-pressure system with associated wind speeds exceeding 65 knots. Such storms are frequent and can occur at any time of the year, which differs from the high-latitude northern hemisphere storms that only occur in winter,” he said, adding that the waves may reach California coast in about a week.

A federal grand jury returned an indictment against Akshay Aiyer, a former currency trader at a major U.S. bank, for conspiring to fix prices and rig bids and offers in Central and Eastern European, Middle Eastern, and African (CEEMEA) currencies, which were generally traded against the U.S. dollar and the euro.

The Department of Justice also charged six major banks in the ongoing investigation into antitrust and fraud crimes in the FX market. On May 20, 2015, Citicorp, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Barclays PLC, and The Royal Bank of Scotland PLC pleaded guilty at the parent level and agreed to pay, collectively, more than $2.5 billion in criminal fines for their participation in an antitrust conspiracy to manipulate the price of the euro-U.S dollar currency pair. Additionally, UBS AG pleaded guilty to manipulating the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) and other benchmark interest rates and agreed to pay a $203 million criminal penalty after breaching it’s December 2012 non-prosecution agreement resolving the LIBOR investigation. On January 25, 2018, BNP Paribas USA, Inc., the former employer of Jason Katz, pleaded guilty to violating the Sherman Act based on its participation in a CEEMEA-related conspiracy and agreed to pay a $90 million fine. 

“As today’s indictment demonstrates, the Antitrust Division remains committed to holding individuals accountable for anticompetitive conduct that violates the integrity of global financial markets,” said Assistant Attorney General Makan Delrahim of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division.
