1………> Organic Carbon: Mars

NASA Mars Curiosity rover has discovered a piece of organic carbon dated to be few billions of year old in a ball of mud located in what originally thought to be a site of a dry lake or a floodplain, an indication that the planet could have supported ancient life, and a new evidence in the atmosphere that relates to the search for current life on the Red Planet.

They are not necessarily evidence of life itself, but a good sign for future missions exploring the planet’s surface and subsurface, according to the study.

Organic molecules contain carbon and hydrogen, and also may include oxygen, nitrogen and other elements. Although commonly associated with life, organic molecules can also be created by non-biological processes.

3…………> Road Soaked In Blood: Now A Trash Dump

The city of Volokolamsk some 60 miles from Russia capital of Moscow saw an incredibly bloody battle between the Nazi invaders and Red Army troops defending the Russian capital during the Great Patriotic War in 1941, a drama immortalized in the book  “Volocolamsk road”. Now 77 years later, it is again engulfed in a battle, but not with the Nazis, but Russian Federation bureaucrats who refuse to shut down an incredibly stinky and toxic dump that had made residents sick for years.

4…………> Trudeau’s Trump: Neighbor’s Quarrel?

As tweeted by Trump: “based on Justin Trudeau’s false statements at his news conference and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to the US farmers, workers and companies,” the US president has instructed representatives, officials and lawmakers in the US to not endorse the final G7 communique.

After departing from the Quebec summit, bound for Singapore, US President Donald Trump slammed remarks by the Canadian Prime Minister at the G7 news conference, in which the latter noted that Canada would not be pushed around, as “very dishonest and weak.”

Earlier in the day, Trudeau said that the communique was agreed upon by all seven member nations. Trudeau later described the US metal tariffs as “insulting” and announced retaliatory measures.

“I highlighted directly to the president that… it’s kind of insulting, and I highlighted that it was not helping in our renegotiation of NAFTA and that it would be with regret, but it would be with absolute certainty and firmness that we move forward with retaliatory measures on July 1,” Justin Trudeau said at the press conference following the summit.

5…………> A Super Predator: AMZ

Online retail giant Amazon has been accused of destroying returned and as-new products in the Islamic Merkeldom of Germany, instead of responsibly repurposing much-needed resources, including mattresses, tablets, cell phones, refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, and furniture, have been simply thrown away by Amazon, according to German current affairs program Frontal 21, cited by Berlin weekly WirtschaftsWoche.

The Islamic Merkeldom of Germany media reported that Amazon employees described destroying tens of thousands of euros’ worth of retail items every day, while other workers noted that not only unsaleable products but many in ‘as-new’ or even brand new condition were disposed of, with little effort to reuse, leading many to accuse the online sales behemoth of spectacular corporate irresponsibility.

1…………> MS13 Punk Deported: NC

ICE removed an MS-13 gang member named Juan Saravia-Salamanca, an unlawfully present Salvadoran national from the United States Friday who is wanted in his home country on felony charges of illicit involvement in a terrorist organization and aggravated homicide.

Since Oct. 1, 2009, ERO has removed more than 1,789 foreign fugitives from the United States who were sought in their native countries for serious crimes, including kidnapping, rape and murder. 2…………> Crooked Used Car Dealer: Worst Of The Worst

An Indiana man identified as Tochukwu Nwosisi, 47 of Indianapolis, was arrested in connection with allegations that he laundered the proceeds of an international advance-fee scheme through a used-car dealership he owned and operated. The scam allegedly involved false promises of investment funding by individuals impersonating U.S. bank officials to victims around the world, who were told they had to make certain payments before they could supposedly receive their funding. In some cases, the perpetrators allegedly met with the victims at local U.S. embassies or consulates and fabricated U.S. government documents to make the victims believe the U.S. government was sponsoring the investment agreements. Proceeds of the scheme were allegedly laundered through U.S. bank accounts and diverted back to the scheme’s perpetrators in Nigeria.

According to the superseding indictment, Nwosisi owned and operated a used car dealership in Indianapolis called Indyrides LLC. As part of his alleged involvement in the conspiracy, Nwosisi received international and domestic wire transfers from victims of the advance-fee scheme into his business bank accounts. The victims were under the impression that such payments were necessary to receive their investment funding. Nwosisi allegedly used the victims’ payments to, among other things, pay himself a portion of the funds and purchase vehicles that he then shipped to the scheme’s perpetrators in Nigeria. As banks closed his accounts for suspicious activity, Nwosisi continued to open new bank accounts to receive payments from victims.

3…………> “Hero” Sapper Rats: Cambodia

During the Vietnam war, Khmer Rouge saturated Cambodia with an assortment of landmines that to this very day present a clear danger to citizens to access roads, infrastructure and even their own backyards, a curse that demands hundreds of sappers to work for years, risking their lives for the sake of their countrymen.

Fortunately for all involved in this deadly and unpredictable game, an ingenious man named Thoeun Theap has found a new “Hero” sapper giant African rat who has been trained to clear explosives from a tennis court-sized area in just 30 minutes, while a team of trained mine removal experts could take a day or two.

The Cambodians may as well paraphrase the old saying, “Dog is man’s best friend” to “African rats are man’s best friends.”

4…………> Drop-Sonde Robot: China

An unmanned Chinese aircraft vehicle (UAV) will test its first drone-carried drop-sonde, or meteorological data monitor up to 18,000 feet, in order to carry out atmospheric profiles as the device falls to the ground.

Launched using a parachute, the drop-sonde can descend at a stabilized speed and cut the atmosphere column like a scalpel to gather data such as temperature, humidity, and wind direction and transmit them to ground receiving devices in real time.

1…………> An Ancient Culture Cove: Tower Collection

Some of the 8 million books harbored and cherished in The Cambridge University Library, and its banned books of the Tower Collection, with the oldest manuscripts dating from 1710, and the most recent material from the 21st century, may see the light of day for the first time in decades.

The 17-story Tower, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, became storage home to the so-called “secondary material” which entitles Cambridge University Library to get a copy of every book published in the U.K.

Among the books the tower holds, there is “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien and Ian Fleming’s “Casino Royale”. Such novels were deemed of little academic value at the time of publication and effectively banished to the Tower.

“Now regarded as an archive of global importance, the Tower’s irreplaceable contents tell the story of our national life through the printed word,” the exhibition’s curator Liam Sims told Anadolu Agency.

The Cambridge University’s history goes back to 1209 and it holds 31 independent colleges, 150 departments, faculties, and institutes.

2………….> Putin 101: Bear Paw Across the Face

President “Comrade Colonel” Putin may be reliving some moments of past Soviet Union glory as the opposition leader Alexei Navalny and more than 1,600 anti-Kremlin refuseniks have been arrested by police during street protests ahead of his inauguration for a fourth presidential term.

Mr. Putin who has been portrayed by Kremlin-friendly media as the “Fatherly person” of the nation, won a landslide re-election victory in March, cementing his power position after being in power, either as president or prime minister, since 2000.

Protests were reported across Russia including the far east and Siberia as  Mr. Navalny called for Russians to take to the streets in more than 90 towns and cities across the world’s largest country to register their opposition to Mr. Putin’s autocratic “Tsar-like” rule.

3…………> Shot At Political Correctness: Trump

President Donald Trump has done it again, outraging the Muslim believers in the Islamic Sheikdom of France by suggesting the 2015 jihadists attacks on Paris could have been stopped by giving people guns.

He mimicked gunmen summoning and shooting victims one by one, saying “Boom! Come over here!” and using his hand to imitate a gun being fired, while the politically correct opposition was infuriated by his omission of the fact that
the terrorist sprayed many of their 130 victims with semi-automatic fire and set off bomb belts.

“France expresses its firm disapproval of the comments by President Trump about the attacks of 13 November 2015 in Paris and asks for the memory of the victims to be respected,” the foreign ministry said.

François Hollande, who was French president at the time of the attacks, said Mr. Trump’s remarks were “shameful”. They “said a lot about what he thinks of France and its values”, he added.

Manuel Valls, who was France’s prime minister in 2015, tweeted: “Indecent and incompetent. What more can I say?”

Indécent et incompétent.Que dire de plus?

2:42 AM – May 5, 2018

In the same speech to the National Rifle Association (NRA) in Dallas, Texas, the US president criticised the level of knife crime in London, comparing one of the city’s hospitals to a “war zone”.

“Paris, France, has the toughest gun laws in the world… Nobody has guns in Paris, nobody, and we all remember more than 130 people, plus tremendous numbers of people that were horrible, horribly wounded. Did you notice that nobody ever talks about them? They were brutally killed by a small group of terrorists that had guns. They took their time and gunned them down one by one. Boom! Come over here. Boom! Come over here. Boom! But if one employee or just one patron had a gun, or if just one person in this room had been there with a gun, aimed at the opposite direction, the terrorists would have fled or been shot.” he told the NRA.

4…………> CO2 Bomb: Tick, Tick You Die

Prof. Ralph Keeling has been recording carbon dioxide levels at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii since 1958.

“We keep burning fossil fuels. Carbon dioxide keeps building up in the air. It’s essentially as simple as that. At the recent pace, we’ll hit 450 ppm in a mere 16 years, and 500 ppm 20 years after that. That’s well within the dangerous territory for the climate system,” he pointed out.

Carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere, which contributes heavily to human-induced global warming, is now at its highest level in the past 800,000 years, according to scientists.
