A member of the 13th Yellow Vests rally in Paris blew his hand off with a GLI-F4 tear gas grenade in front of the National Assembly, as a rally turned violent with the number of clashes between protesters and police flared up.

According to unconfirmed reports, the victim had picked up the grenade, the incident taking place in front of the National Assembly as it was a scene of some tension between police and protesters.

The injured person has reportedly been rushed to a hospital.

The EU’s foreign service has warned there are hundreds of Russian and Chinese intelligence agents operating in Brussels, estimated to be “250 Chinese and 200 Russian spies” in the European capital, and diplomats and military officials were advised to avoid certain parts of Brussels’ EU quarter, including a popular steakhouse and a cafe near the European Commission’s main building.

According to the EEAS, which is headed by chief EU diplomat Federica Mogherini, these intelligence agents are mainly based at their home countries’ embassies or trade missions. Without citing figures, the body added that Russia has historically had a large number of agents stationed in the city.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested 118 during a 5-day period, from January 14-18th, in New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley, with more than 107 being convicted criminals or had criminal charges pending, and more than 55 who had been issued a final order of removal and failed to depart the United States, or had been previously removed from the United States and returned illegally.

Below is a small sample of the crimes and the illegal alien offenders who committed them:

In Brooklyn, a 44 year-old Ecuadorian national, and registered sexual offender, who has a conviction of Attempted Sexual Abuse (two female victims under the age of 8), for which he was sentenced to 10 years of probation supervision;

In Deer Park, a 34 year-old Ecuadorian national, who has convictions of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree: Contact by Forcible Compulsion;

In Brooklyn, a 33 year-old previously removed Jamaican national, who has convictions of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Harassment;

In Corona, a 44 year-old Peruvian national, and registered sexual offender, released from NYPD custody with an active detainer, who has a conviction of Forcible Touching: Touch Intimate Parts of Another Person;

“In spite of the significant obstacles that ICE faces due to the dangerous policies created by local jurisdictions, which hinders the cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement, ICE will continue to devote the full efforts of our agency to protecting citizens and enforcing federal immigration law despite challenges being pursued by politically motivated individuals”, said Thomas R. Decker, field office director for ERO New York.

They then prepared tax returns in 2007, 2008, and 2009, for Primetime’s customers, which reported false dependents, fake business income and losses, inflated deductions, inflated credits, and false filing statuses, in order to get their customers inflated refunds

Together with his co-defendants, Mwase prepared and filed with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) over 2,000 fraudulent individual income tax returns on behalf of customers of Primetime for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008

Mwase was scheduled to be sentenced on August 18, 2016, following the two-week trial of co-defendants Kosh and Sangaray, which occurred in September 2015, and the guilty plea of co-defendant Saygbay, in November 2015

In October 2018, following an extradition request from the United States, Mwase was surrendered to the custody of the United States Marshals Service and returned to Minnesota to face sentencing

Led by dedicated principal Juan Salomón Canales, citizens rebuild the school temporarily with straw, palm fronds and wood in the traditional way of the indigenous Ikojts people.
“The government promises many things but never delivers. We were told the school rooms were going to be rebuilt, but they’ve done nothing. [And] the children were unable to return to the school because the constant tremors continue to damage it,” Mr. Canales said.

The third largest fire in California history burned 269,000 acres and destroyed over 1,000 structures as it continued to expand across 10,000 acres late last week.
Cal Fire, the state’s fire emergency agency, estimated the Thomas Fire is only 40 percent contained after burning for nearly two weeks, and said it threatens an additional 18,000 structures. 

Coastal communities in Santa Barbara county has been so far spared from the inferno, but the Thomas Fire has shown no sign of relenting as strong winds continue to propel the blaze. The intense Santa Ana winds are expected to gust to 55 mph (88 kph) overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Sean Price, 39, a man from Queens, New York was convicted for enticing a 16-year-old girl from Australia to travel from abroad to engage in sexual activity.  After meeting her online, he encouraged her to join him in New York, Price wired the girl over $900 to purchase a plane ticket to fly to Los Angeles in late March of this year. The superseding indictment charged him with interstate and foreign enticement to engage in sexual activity, interstate and foreign transportation of a minor to engage in sexual activity, a Mann Act violation, and attempted sexual exploitation of a child.

“Price lured a teenage girl across the globe to satisfy his own sordid desires, taking advantage of her youth and preying on her vulnerability,” stated HSI Special Agent-in-Charge Angel Melendez.  “These cases are a harsh reminder of the importance of educating our young people on the dangers of sexual predators on the internet.  HSI New York’s Trafficking in Persons Unit maintains an unwavering commitment to investigate these crimes around the world, targeting and arresting predators who transport minors for sex.  And we continue to collaborate with our global partners, like the Australian Federal Police, while relying on local partnerships as with the NYPD.”

“The jury has held defendant Sean Price accountable for his predatory conduct, which included luring a teenage girl from her home in Australia across the world to the United States so that he could engage in an illicit sexual relationship with her,” stated Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Bridget M. Rohde.  “Today’s verdict should send a strong message that this Office, together with our law enforcement partners, will work tirelessly to identify those who would sexually exploit minors and prosecute those abusers to the fullest extent of the law.” 

When sentenced, Price faces up to life in prison.
