Russian Opposition Leader Alexei Navalny was hospitalized after suffering an acute allergic reaction, and rushed to hospital from jail, where he is serving a 30-day sentence for violating tough protest laws.It is only a day after police in Moscow detained over 1,000 people for an illegal demonstration that Mr. Navalny called for.
His spokesperson said Mr. Navalny had signs of an acute allergy with “severe swelling of the face and skin redness”, but was now in a “satisfactory condition”, but one doctor, who has previously treated him and was able to briefly speak to him and look at him through the crack of a door, said she could not rule out that he had been poisoned by an unknown chemical substance.

The US director of national intelligence (DNI), Dan Coats, become the latest high-profile figure to be thrown out of the Trump administration, as President Trump tweeted that he would step down in mid-August, and that he would nominate the Texan congressman John Ratcliffe to replace him.
Mr. Coats and President Trump have often been at odds over Russia and North Korea, since as director of national intelligence, it was Mr. Coats’ role to oversee all 17 US intelligence agencies, including the CIA and NSA.
But throughout his tenure, Mr. Coats’ assessments were routinely contradicted by the president, who has been critical of intelligence agencies, and in January the president called his intelligence chiefs passive and naive in their assessment of the threat posed by Iran.
Mr. Coats is the latest in a string of Trump administration officials to leave the White House, former Defense Secretary James Mattis and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson among them.
